One of our tours stops
Apr 2019
As part of our (Groupon) tour, we were required to sit through their presentation of tea. We were then given ample time to purchase the products in the store. My husband and I are not tea drinkers but learning about how tea is produced and grown was of interest. Several people in our group bought tea which helped pay for our "Cheap" tour package.

Not all teas are the same as you will discover when you visit here.

We went as part of a tour and had time to look around the grounds, walk among the tea plants and learn the history and process involved in making this tea so special. It is Longjing Green Tea which is a hand roasted green tea which has a lovely flavour and great health properties as told to us by the very informative guide who took us through the benefits of the tea. She was funny and quick whitted and spoke very good english. The tea and tea products are then offered for sale. There is also a shop that you pass through on the way out with lots of interesting things to purchase. I really enjoyed my visit here and did buy some Tea & other products.

Hangzhou with China Odyssey Tours
Sep 2014 • Friends
In Hangzhou we were met by our guide Jill. Jill took us to West Lake where we travelled on the lake and walked around it. I found the Lotus and the Bonsai to be beautiful. The trip was at a leisurely pace with plenty of time for photos - enchanting it is.

Jill also took us to the Lingyin Temple via the area where there are 5000 carved Buddha's dating back to 10 - 14th centuries, a wonderful walk along a racing steam to view all the carving in stone. I think the temple was one of the most picturesque areas we visited and I took many photos. The following day it was on the bus and out to visit a tea growing area, have lunch at a private home in the midst of the tea plantations and then on to Dragon Well Tea plantation where we were introduced to the growing and production of green tea the most favourite in China. It tasted wonderful and if all the fantastic properties it contains for good health are true then the Chinese will all live to well over 100.

Again the food was wonderful, all six of us loved the egg plant dishes we were served all over China. Thank you China Odyssey Tours for including this in our travel itinerary and many thank to Jill for her kindness and superior knowledge of the sights. Especially her interest in Lindsay and Kevin's knowledge of all the plants and trees we got to see in the gardens of West Lake.
