Impressive, free temple

The largest temple in Hanzhou outside of the West Lake Park area, the Confucius Temple is free to visit and is a fascinating experience. Although all quite new, the buildings themselves contain many ancient stone scripts, that snake around the various halls encompassing the tranquil gardens and ponds. The main temple has wonderful carved and colourful Gods, as well as a remarkable set of bells. Closed on Mondays, but open Tuesday - Sunday.
