This is one of the most important places at the West lake, however, there is nothing much to see. It's a 7-storey pagoda and it's absolutely empty inside. I believe that long ago the walls inside had some paintings or sculptures because now you can find only a piece of paper near the empty walls indicating what was there before. There is a small exhibition hall representing the history of the pagoda but it's hard to understand anything as there is no word in English.
The view from above is not bad on a sunny day but in general, especially if you are short on time, I would recommend not to go there.

Nice view from the top, it's possible to go up and have a view of the river. The ticket fee is around 25 rmb if I remember it well.

Please don’t go. There really is nothing more than an ordinary park and a pagoda that looked deserted and spooky and very difficult to climb up just for a view of the Qiantang River.

We passed by this pagoda on our way to the city centre and it stands out as a landmark. Total 15 levels with 360 degrees of the view. It was really impressive, the architecture itself and the view of the new suburbs recently developed on the other side of the river. Pity all the paintings and the sculptures inside the pagoda had disappeared or damaged in all those years.

hi, is it hard to climb up with a small kid(1 and half year)?

Hi Chamila
Sorry for the delayed response. The stairs are steep and narrow, but you can rest at each level, going around the pagoda to see the view. So if you are going to carry the little one, it can be a bit hard work, but still absolutely fine. Hope you enjoy the climb :)
