I don't know much detail about these two gates but they are like the symbol of Kunming city. Some tell me that there's Kunming map on the floor but I cannot find it. The area is quite energetic, both local people and travellers visit it. There are many modern shopping complexes and also tea shops and souvenir market near the... More

One of the landmark of the area. Unique name as its facing two different mountain. Worth a visit if u have spare time. There's many eateries there. Most of the shops sell similar stuff

This landmark can be considered as the start of the main shopping street in Kunming. Good for photos, that's all. Main shopping street is also quite boring.

As suggested in the title, there is nothing special around the area apart from some touristy shops and restaurants. The old gates are nice and that's it....

Everything there really makes you feel that you are in China: lovely pagodas, market, statues, jade counters. Nice souvenirs in the shops but they don't accept international credit cards so take cash with you!

We walked from the hotel there, taking less than 1/2 hr.from Renmin East Rd. Kunming is a very specious town, so walking there was very pleasurable. Once there, one just see these 2 monuments, one being the Jinma (Golden Horse) and the other Biji (Jade Rooster). I'd say it's worth stopping for 15 minutes or so, taking a few pictures.... More

Also, there was a hump hostel where you could stay for 25 yuan per night for dorms and local beer cost at 5 yuan. the way to get here can be reach by taking... More
