Kunming is not only a very beautiful city with cool air and views of the lake, seagulls. flowers, trees with colorful leaves on my visit in early December, but also a historic city for Islam in China. Halal food and mosque for Muslims can be found in many places.
make sure you bring enough cash because it is not easy for tourists to withdraw cash from ATM machines and it is not easy to pay by credit card even in shopping centers.
generally the locals cannot speak English but are very kind and try to help when needed

Dear Rahim There are ten millions Muslim (Hui Minority) live in Yunnan ,the first governor of Yunnan is Muslim too (Sayyid Shams Din'Umar 1211-1279) Guests are able to enjoy the Muslim food and old towns in many places.Kunming must be the start point of this Muslim cultural trip. Spring City trip is a nice way to enjoy the highlight of Kunming, but we also could add some activities which guests are interest, such as outdoors, culture and other hobbies. For cash, most shops cannot accept foreign cards in China, you need to draw cash from ATM. We are expecting your next visit.

I had a 10 hour layover between flights at Kunming, and so organised a city tour of Kunming through OTW. Eric was a fantastic tour guide, we saw a few of the main sights of Kunming including Grand View Park and Dragon Gate, as well as having a fantastic local breakfast. I cannot recommend highly enough and I look forward to coming back and exploring Yunnan for a longer period.

An enjoyable 13 days in May 2017 to Shangri-la via Kunming, Lijiang and Dali with Eric of OTW Adventure - an experience tour guide cum driver.

6 of us in a group not only enjoy the nice and wonderful sceneries and landscapes but also experience the awesome weather in Shangri la !

Eric, an experience local tour guide, took us to visit local ethnic homes - to have raditional Tibetan meal with Tibetan family, etc. Apart from that, we also enjoyed the local snacks and eat like local in little restaurants in small towns/villages.

Eric also a good photographer whose advise us on many nice scenery spots along the journey but, be prepared to experience all kind of WC along the journey, particular in small & tiny villages with no proper public toilet provided !

I would recommend Eric to those who really want to enjoy the unusual places where not many tourists will go, like to enjoy actual local foods and experience the local life,

Visit natural destinations as local is our style, this is best way to know about local people's life,as well as have more unexpected experience compare with normal scenic spots.Expecting your next visit, and we hope the WC will get better.

Finally, we completed our 13D/12N Yunnan trip with OTW Adventure!

Our lovely journey…drove all the way from Kunming -Lijiang - Lugu Lake – Tiger Leaping Gorge Gorge – Shangri-La – Baima & Meili Snow Mountains -Balagezong - Lao Jun Mountain – Shaxi Old Town – Tali -Kunming.

We enjoyed nice deep autumn, winter and snow mountains sceneries along the journey. OTW Adventure has given us a very good advice to visit the Meili Snow Mountain in November, it was really a good timing, sky was so clear, we can see the snow mountains clearly in the blue blue sky! It was really beautiful!

We also like the birds watch in Kunming, short distance hiking near to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, music show performance in Lijiang Ancient Town, hiking at Lover Valley (can see the magnificent views of Lugu Lake), the sunset, boat ride and birds feeding at Lugu Lake, Jinsha River Canyon (Yangyze River), Tiger Leaping Gorge, horse riding at Yi La Grassland (Shangri-La), Na Pa Lake, lovely Shangri-La, Lijiang & Shaxi (Tali) old towns, beautiful sunset and sunrise of Meili Snow Mountain (can see Meili Snow Mountain in golden colour when sun rise) and playing snow balls at Balagexong, kids loved this place so much and played like nobody business ha-ha-ha! Balagexong is a very beautiful place especially the Tibetan great canyon. Among all, the most unforgettable experience to me was playing ferrate at Lao Jun Mountain, it was so fun!!!

Special thanks to Eric for being so patient in handling my family 3 little monsters especially my 2 very cute and playful nephews. They really enjoyed the trip and foods in Yunnan. This was also my son first trip to China, he loved it much and definitely is a memorable trip to him!

We had just completed a 15 days Silk Road trip with OTW Adventure. Mr Eric has again done a good job in planning and arranging such a wonderful trip for us. Our itineraries were interesting and fun, we really enjoyed much. Thanks to him for taking good care on us and drove us safely from one destination to another, especially during the sand storm while we were travelling from Turpan to Hami, it was really an unforgettable experience.

We have been travelled on the road for about 3852km long journey from Urumqi to Xi'an (Urumqi - Turpan - Hami - Dunhuang - Jiayuguan - Zhangye - Lanzhou - Tiansui - Xian). We have visited many lovely and interesting places i.e.Tien Lake, Emin Minaret, Jiaohe Ancient City (Yarkhoto), Ancient Village of Uyghur, Karez System, Grape Valley, Flaming Mountains, Bezeklik Thousand Buddha Caves, Tuyuk Valley, Kumtag Desert, Echo Sand Mountain and Crescent Moon Pool, Mogao Caves, Yadan National Geological Park, Yumen Pass, Great Wall of Han Dynasty, Xuanbi Great Wall, Jiayuguan Fortress, Zhangye Danxia Geopark, Giant Buddha Temple, Muta Temple, Mati Temple Mill Wheel Park, Gansu Museum, Maiji Grottoes, Shaanxi History Museum, Xian Museum, Qin Cemetery (The Largest ancient Tomb) & etc and managed to try many different type of local yummy food.

We have learned much from this silk road trip and thanks to Eric for bringing us to many interesting museums and shared with us his good knowledge of silk road history.
The camel ride in Kumtag Desert and plucking of white mulberries in Ancient Village of Uyghur were both memorable experiences to me. I miss the taste of the white mulberry, it was so sweet and juicy, yummy! yummy! 😊

We are looking forward our next trip to Yunnan with OTW Adventure! See you soon Eric!

Coco and her friends travelled with us in May,the weather is comfortable,as well as the season of mulberry. We are happy to know that you enjoyed this trip. It's sad that they don't have enough time to visit Qinghai Lake and Qilian Mountains (Tsilien Mountains),which is important part of Silk Road, but we believe that they will be on your list of traveling destination, and hope to explore that area with you in future.

After an awesome trip with a group of friends to Nu River in September 2016 that organised and leaded by a superb good and experience tour guide Eric Feng, Yunnan Visitor Center, we (my family, friends and i) have again engaged their services for 2 private tours i.e. Xian trip in May 2017 (12D/13N) and Xishuangbanna trip (8D/7N) in June 2017. We enjoyed much for both the trips. Again, Eric has not disappointed us, our itineraries were interesting and well planned, we have so much fun and joys during the trip. The local food and dishes recommended by Eric were so yummy and nice. We are looking forward to have another trip with Eric next year and highly recommended their tourism service to those who like to have private tour in China especially Yunnan.

We have chosen Yunnan Taste Tourism Service (“Yunnan Taste”) to arrange a 10D/9N trip in September 2016 to Nu River, Dulong River, Bingzhongluo and Tengchong. Mr Eric Feng, our tour guide for the trip, as well as the owner of Yunnan Taste, has done a very good job in planning and arranging such a wonderful and enjoyable trip with a well mix of visits in Nu River, Dulong River, Bingzhongluo and Tengchong. He is a knowledgeable tour guide with extensive travelling experiences, friendly, helpful, responsible and ensures that we have the best time possible. Overall, everything was well arranged from the pick-up at airport until we left Yunnan.

We have experienced lots of interesting places/activities, in particular, the hiking along the Tea-Horse Caravan Route to Wuli Village, playing the gliding cable bridge cross the Nu River, enjoyed wild hot spring at Nu River and homestay in Heshun old town.

Eric and the other 2 drivers drove us safely for a very long journey, from Baoashan - Nu River - Dulong River – Bingzhongluo - Liuku –Tengchong. The route took about 2000km drive. We have visited many wonderful places with magnificent and scene sights, which included Nu River, Laomudeng Village, Flying Stone, Abandoned City of Zhiziluo, Dulong River, Dulong Village to see tattooed face Derung Women, Bingzhongluo, Qiunatong Village, hiking along the Tea-Horse Caravan Route to Wuli Village, 1st bend of Nu River, Wild Hot Spring, Shuanghong Bridge, Long Jiang Bridge, Heshun old town, Museum of World War II, Wetland and Hot Sea in Tengchong.

We also got a really good taste of many type of interesting local special cuisine. Thank you very much Eric!

I would definitely recommend Yunnan Taste, which also provides home stay in Kunming, to my friends and relatives who are planning to visit Kunming and/or other interesting places in Yunnan. My sisters and I be back soon for another Yunnan trip!
