This place is huge and I was very unfamiliar with trains, let alone in a language I can't read. However, everything was fairly intuitive and the people there are more than willing to help. It's very clean and every train was on time. Plenty of little places to eat at while you wait for your train as well.

The staff are an absolute disgrace. I was late for a train due. I couldn't rebook online so had to find a ticket office, which are hidden away at the end corners of the building. The girl at the ticket office of course didn't speak a word of English, she rebooked me for the next train. but didn't leave me enough time to check-in. As I made my way towards check-in, I realised my luggage was missing. I went back to the ticket office and my suitcase was there. Of course, the staff at the ticket office can't be bothered to do something as courteous as tell customers that they have left their luggage, which might explain why the lost luggage desk is next to the ticket office, which was, not staffed at the time.

By the time I got back to check-in, I missed the train. I booked another ticket and complained to the girl at the ticket office for not having the decency to tell me I'd left my luggage and complained to the man at lost luggage for not being at his desk while trains were leaving.

I complained to the manager about the lack of attention paid by his staff and office he said the girl at the ticket office only gives tickets and if you pay the man at lost luggage, he will look after your luggage! Unbelievable. Rude, un-cooperative and selfish, much like many people in Xi'an, in fact.

A very impressive building design. It was so big it was like an international airport. The place is very organised and even for us who speak no Mandarin, it was easy to navigate.

We took a metro here to catch our high speed train to Shanghai. From Beijing, our high speed train also arrive here. Station is pretty big, clean and well organized. Signs in English and Chinese. Easy to move around. Food stalls available.

We had such a great experience riding the Chinese Railway system the three times that we used it. It is efficient, well run, clean, and FAST.

Wow what a station, the cleanliness and organisation of these Chinese station are the next level. We booked our tickets through China Highlights. Highly recommend them for foreigners as everything is organised when you arrive. You only need your passport and your conflation email, the security is great. Try the bullet train, highly recommend.

I needed to take a train too Changsha. The station is located about 12km out of town. It is massive, but once you have your ticket and have cleared security, it is pretty easy to find out where you have to go to catch your train. I love the bullet train network in China, it blows many other nations' rail networks right out of the water.

We reached there by BeiKeZhan MRT station. Scan the MRT card come out walk straight to the North Railway Station, turn left up to the staircase to the front of the Railway Station to buy high speed train tickets. When we were there the ticket counters same floor with the MRT station was totally closed. So we went up stairs on the left to the front counter. We bought ticket here to XIan to Huashan, Huashan to Luoyang, and Xian to Pingyao and return tickets too.

Traveling from Xi'an to western Chengdu, and this being one of five train trips during our 2 week, six city adventure through NE China, we found that all of China's railway stations are efficient, clean and, as crowded as they are, travelers move in fast and move out fast. Even if you lack any skills in speaking Chinese, as long as you have your tickets in advance (and a passport, if you are a foreign traveler), or purchase them at a ticket booth, just follow the info printed on your ticket and you will find which platform to go to. I'd advise ALWAYS getting to the station 45 minutes before your departure as the lines to each platform grow quickly. This station, which is the only one in Xi'an handling the bullet/high speed/G trains is huge, filled with folks staring at their cell phones, but again, moves like a well-oiled machine.

Like all railway stations in China, this one is spotlessly clean. Trains generally run when and where they are scheduled.
