We made arrangements with Anna for tours on three of the four days we were in Xi'an. It was one of the best choices we made in China! She was very flexible and was able to tailor the tour to our needs, and also make changes during the tour as the need arose. It was extremely hot during our visit, which led us to seek extra indoor air conditioning or coffee breaks. Anna gave us suggestions of where we could go in the evenings, including making reservations for us. The first day, Anna's husband Ivan took us to see the Terra Cotta soldiers, followed by a tour of part of the city. The second day, Anna took us to see the old city, including the Moslem Quarter, and various highlights of Xi'an. The third day, Anna took us to see the Han Yangling Mausoleum (a must-see attraction!) before she took us to the train station.
We were very pleased with our guides, who picked us up and handled all the arrangements for us, and who were very knowledgeable about all things Xi'an. They were both Xi'an natives who speak good English. They were extremely knowledgeable and made very thoughtful and complete presentations about the sights, and were also able to answer our questions. As the days progressed, we enjoyed sharing experiences with each other, and are happy to call Anna our friend. We were also extremely pleased with our driver -- which makes a huge difference in maneuvering through the crazy Xi'an traffic!
We highly recommend making arrangements with Xi'an Beyond Tours!

My second tour of Xi'an was almost more exciting than the initial tour. I took some businessmen to Xi'an to 'sightseeing" and "do business". I cannot speak for the business that occurred but the sightseeing was magnificent. I organised a guide from Private Day Tours Xi'an and Tony was our guide. Tony was witty, humorous and a "bundle of fun', His knowledge of all the sights we visited was beyond belief, he "almost knew everything" and told us before we asked. My friends were extremely impressed. On more than one occasion they asked "Do all guides know this amount of history and "side stories"? I informed that this company guides seemed to be the BEST! Many of the sights were less crowded than previously. I imagine this had a LOT to do with the temperature. It was cool to cold when we visited. With less people we had more time to "sit and wonder" at the magnificent sites. The Tera Cotta Warriors, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and the Xi'an Wall are all wonderful features of a great city. When you are told so many stories relating to these features, you can only wonder at the wisdom and be astounded by the ideas "behind" their building.
Once again a "tour to remember' to Magnificent Xi'an. This trip was mad e sooo much better for having contacted Private One Day Tours Xi'an and with Tony as our "Team Leader".
Hows long before I go again??
Cheers and I hope you enjoy Xi'an as much as I do.

Dear Michael We could not agree with you any more that although the Terracotta Warriors are amazing, there are still much more attractions in Xian. A biking tour or golf car tour or even walk along the Ancient City Wall is also highly recommended. Actually in Xi'an, we have many guides who are as nice and professional as Tony. So we do hope you will have the chance to come back to one day and allow us to accompany you to more wonderful attractions. Clients’ satisfaction is always the best rewards to us and will encourage us to keep up with good work! Best Wishes Anna

The day started well when we were greeted at the airport by Anna, our young Chinese guide who was displaying a sign with our name on it and who was wearing a big smile. The four of us plus and Anna and the driver drove straight to the Terracotta Warriors. The van was modern, comfortable and the driver was excellent. The Terracotta Warriors are extraordinary and our experience was even better with Anna as our guide. Anna ticks all the boxes for an excellent professional guide plus she is a lovely person.

There are a number of things I look for in a private guide – integrity, knowledge, friendliness, warmth and flexibility. Throughout our trip to China we had numerous guides but Donna stood out as truly excellent.

Both her and the driver were always waiting at the appointed time and as a consequence our itinerary ran very smoothly. Donna was able to strike that unique balance between being fun and being professional.

At one location, my wife inadvertently left her camera behind in a restaurant and the loss was only discovered well over an hour later when we returned to our hotel. Donna telephoned the restaurant on our behalf, located the camera and arranged for her husband to be to collect it – a round trip of well over 2 hours. We were so pleased to get it back and without our guide it would not have happened.

Xian is a fascinating place to visit and if you are intending to visit the city and the terracotta warriors, there is no better person to guide you than Donna.

The Xian tour guide was the best of the seven we had in China last May. Ivan was very thoughtful and made our trip to Xi'an the best travel experience in China; Included, he helped us go shopping and suggested where to dine near our hotel. I loved the stuff at the pottery workshop, and he helped me decide what to choose and how to handle my purchases. He really goes the extra mile to satisfy his clients.
We visited the Pottery Workshop, the Terracotta Army Museum, the Shaanxi History Museum, the Ancient City Wall, the Great Mosque and the Muslim Quarter. Ivan was very flexible, without any pressure, so we could enjoy every place we visited in Xi'an.
Ivan also chose a good restaurant for lunch at the Terracotta Army Museum. He made a good selection of local dishes, and the best was the tasting of different teas.
Besides the knowledge of his city, he has good spoken English, which is not easy to find in the tour guides of China, something very important if you want to know the culture and history of the places you are visiting. I really recommend Ivan as a very thoughtful tour guide.

My aunt and I were traveling across China in May. We were at Xi’an for just 2 days but they were more than worthy.

Ivan, our private tour guide, picked-up us at the train station as we came from Chengdu. He was really nice and patient helping us to check in in the hotel and getting directions to buy some stuffs. Despite hour hectic schedule, we could visit many places: a beautiful Pottery Workshop (we had time to buy some souvenirs), the Qin Terracotta Army Museum (the farmer who discovered the Terracotta warriors signed the book I bought in the gift shop), the Ancient City Wall, the Shaanxi History Museum, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and the Great Mosque. Ivan made everything to take advantage of time and to make us feel comfortable: just ask him, and he would help you, no doubt! Also, he loves and knows pretty well his city which made us to enjoy and learn more from every place we visited.

Definitely, time was too short. Next time at China, I would need almost a week to enjoy more Xi’an.

My family of 4 (My wife, 7 and 5 year old boys, myself) flew in from Beijing for a 1 day tour in Xi’an.

Our guide Ivan met us at the airport in the morning. He and driver took us straight out to the Terra Cotta Army site on a busy Saturday. Ivan was very helpful getting out family through the busy entrance and through to the pit sites.

There we spent a few hours walking the pit sites with Ivan with us explaining so many details of the site. He was very polite and knowledgeable and very patient with my young boys.

In the afternoon, we headed back and Ivan helped us get checked in the hotel. After a brief break and snack, we had a nice tour of the Old Historic City Wall, and finally in the central Bell Tower, Drum Tower, Muslim Section. Again, Ivan was knowledgeable in so much detail of the city; we were all so grateful to have such an informative guide.

A very busy but enjoyable day with a great guide. Thank you!!!

Flew into Xi'an from Rome for one day before continuing to Japan. Booked a tour with Anna the day before and she picked me up at the Hotel a little after I arrived. We did the Terracotta warriors, Muslim quarters, and the city wall. She bought me lunch and all my passes. She speaks very good English and answered all my questions. She's very knowledgeable about Xi'an and has traveled alot in the world. Would recommend if I was going back to Xi'an, but there's so many other cities to explore, so I probably won't make it back.

We booked a tour of Xi'an with Anna months before we went to China. We discussed all of our requirements (seniors with some mobility issues and some food limitations) and got back great comments as well as wonderful recommendations on what to do. We hired Anna for pickup on our late arrival our 1st day and for two and half-day tours for days 2-4 along with airport drop-off on the fourth day. Anna's command of English is excellent as well as her command of the history and knowledge of the sites. It was a thoroughly enchanting time. We ate well and saw many sites. We especially loved the Terra-cotta warriors and the Shaanxi museum. It followed a not-so-good experience at our previous city, so being with Anna was a welcomed-relief. Overall, we would rate her service as EXCELLENT and recommend her highly to anyone. We LOVED Xi'an and ANNA!

Donna was an excellent guide - punctual, friendly, knowledgable and funny. We were travelling with a three-year-old and she was very relaxed and accommodating. Xian is trickier to get around than Beijing or Shanghai and was definitely worth having a private guide to help with not just the sights but also finding the best spots to eat - and ordering! Thank you Donna for a great trip : )

Dear Carla Thank you for sharing your happy tours in Xi'an with us. Your satisfaction on our services will help more customers to have confidence in our private family tour. As you said, a private tour guide will be much helpful with you in Xi'an, as our city is not that international and does not has many english signs everywhere. Moreover, our local guides know exactly about the local food and things that worth to try in Xi'an. When you choose to travel with us, we are dedicated to provide you with worry-free, boundary-free and fake-free services. Welcome back to China anytime.
