The city wall is amazing because it surrounds all of the inner city of Xi'an and you can see nearly anything from the top. I would definitely recommend renting a bicycle as it is a fun way to get around the city. They are only...More

This is a very well preserved and maintained inner city wall. The government has restricted the height of buildings inside the wall to maintain the old style. This is good for Xi'an. Bikes can be hired on top of the wall and we saw many...More

A brilliant introduction to the city. It's been refurbished very well, and the information boards give some insight to the city's history (though there's not a lot of 'old stuff' left). You will pass through one of the gates in or out of the old...More

Xi'an's city wall is wide and high, enough to see the old Tang Dynasty roofs on one side and new residential buildings on the other. Bike around the whole wall, a total distance of 13.6km, which takes over two hours. Advice: go late in the...More

We were told this was the oldest wall in China that is still standing. It gives a nice view of the city. You can rent bicycles and ride around or just stroll.

This is a unique and fun way of seeing the city from an elevated point of view. If you are not sure whether you can hack it the whole distance alone, I recommend going on a tandem bike. It helps. Thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Good way to get out of the busy traffic and look at the amazing wall. Hard work but we'll worth it. Took about 90 mins on the bike so recommend it rather than walking

It was a nice break for an hour to walk around. I think it is 10 miles all the way around. Look over the wall to see regular citiizens go about their business. Partially restored moat on some parts of the wall

We stayed at the Atour Hotel that overlooked the Ancient Wall. In the evening it is lit up and is beautiful. We really enjoyed walking around.

A leisurely cycle on a sunny day around the walls is perfect. My wife and I hired a tandem (which is great fun) and spent around 2 hours cycling round and taking photos. Well worth the visit.

Yeah it wasn't too expensive ~ 45 Yuan each. We got two tandem bikes and we had them as long as we wanted. At the gate we went to we bypassed the closest bike rental and walked maybe 200 yds to a second one. The bikes... More

Chinese people are small, so there will be bikes for your children. Mij husband is 187cm and had a bigger problem..... I don't think there is a minimum age. You have to be aware that you have to pay the bikes in advance... More
