I can not recommend Bryan highly enough-- he worked with our small group to create the perfect experiance visiting the terra cotta army on very short notice. He was incredibly responsive, made personal transportation arrangements getting people to and from multiple destinations and then delivered a truly excellent tour within the site itself. Bryan clearly has a passion for history and shared background and historical context from all points in Chinese history. His English is excellent and his knowledge of the sites and history in general is superb. He ushered us through back ways and in a route countrary to the rest of the visitors, ensuring we arrived at vantage points with minimal crowds and the best views. We skipped the tourist traps and shops and went straight to a local spot for lunch for more excellent shaanixi fare. He clearly cares about his guests and their experiance, and highlights Xi'an in the best way possible.

Brian is a great guide and so very nice. He took us to The Terracotta Army, this place is very crowded and very popular. But Brian knows exactly where to go and what the best spots are.
He is very concerned about you when he takes you with him on a trip, he has a good eye to keep everybody safe with him.
He has a lot of interesting information to tell you and show you.
After visiting The Army, he took us to his favourite restaurant for a very local typical meal.
Brian helped us through The Terracotta Army and the city. He made sure we got safely to our next stop and helped us even rent our bikes later that day.
We had an amazing time with Brian 😊

Bryan is an excellent tour guide. He has a depth of experience that allows him to answer any question you might have. Bryan has been guiding for many years and he is able to set up any tour that you might desire. He and his driver took us to the Terra Cotta Warriors and he very patiently guided us through the site while answering all of our questions. When we were finished, Bryan took us to a local restaurant for a local noodle meal. Bryan also spent a day showing us the Muslim Quarter with the Bell and Drum Towers and he showed us the Big Wild Goose Pagoda while demonstrating the best locations for the most interesting pictures. He even had his driver take us to church on Sunday and he arranged for airport transportation. We also walked down calligraphy street and strolled on the City Wall. Basically anything you need, Bryan can arrange to provide. His English is very good and he is a consummate professional. If you are looking for a great guide, we highly recommend Bryan.

For our recent trip to Xi’an we had Bryan as our guide. He provided us with two full days of tours (highlights of Xi’an) and transportation to and from the train station. It was great that once we left from Beijing, we were done. Bryan had everything handled for us and we could relax and enjoy the trip. No need to worry about getting places or things to do. Also, Bryan provided us with a great education of Xi’an and China history. There is a lot we learned by having him as our guide. Bryan was very professional, helpful, and always on time. Thank you, Bryan, for our memorable trip to Xi’an.

My husband & I traveled to Xi’an in January 2020 with my octogenarian parents. Brian and his driver were both exceedingly gracious, helpful, and informative on everything to do with Xi’an and Shaanxi province, including of course the history (Brian was a history major in college), culture, the many different sights besides the Terracota warriors, wall and pagodas, Muslim quarter, food, etc. They suggested & amended customized itineraries for us based on the weather conditions, and our different energy levels. As a result, we had al wonderful time despite the poor air quality while we were there. I’d highly recommend Brian as your guide for Xi’an... he also had great local restaurant recommendations!

Bryan is not only a tour guide. He became a good friend and made this 14 days trip to Shaanxi unforgettable. He was always friendly and in a good mood and I could rely on him all the time. He took good care of me and made the whole plan for my 14 days trip, that I needed to do for work, as I am a travel photographer. He helped me also watching and carrying my photo equipment and assisted me at some shootings. He interpreted and translated for me and even after the trip, he helped me to get all the necessary informations, that I needed to know about the places, we`ve been to. If you wanna have a great time: go on a trip with that awsome guy!

I was in Australia curious about the logistics in getting from Shanghai to Xi'an to see the fabulous Terracotta Warriors.
I contacted Bryan with some questions about a day trip.
I had limited time available to me.
So I needed to fly in and fly out in one day - not the best way to Xi'an but my travelling arrangements forced this.
From the moment I contacted Bryan he set out a personalised tour for me. He suggested an itinerary which I approved in consultation with him (a number of emails). His rates are more than reasonable. His he a true academic knowing so much about the history of China and the Xi'an area. Amazing knowledge!
He met me at the airport and then our wonderful day and journey commenced.
We drove straight to the warriors and on the way he explained the history of the warriors and filled in all the gaps and questions that I had concerning this history. In addition I asked many questions about Chinese history in general - he was able to answer these questions in great detail and how they linked with other events in Chinese history.
With all this talking I looked out the window of the car and we had arrived at the Warriors!
He then escorted me through the three pits - and the museum areas.
I was not rushed - he explained the importance of the respective areas of the pits and the warriors in exceptional detail.
I back tracked a few times to take another look - he was very supportive.
I was fortunate to bring a good camera on the trip and have taken some detailed pictures of the warriors and my day with Bryan.
He places you in the best positions away from the tour groups to ensure you get exceptional photography and ensuring he explains the relevant information for each section and pit you visit.
The tour itself was overwhelming! The splendour of the warriors and the amazing archaeological site cannot be explained in words - I think some of my pictures will suffice!
After the warriors he took me to a local restaurant for lunch - I had a Xi'an hamburger and some noodles - these were very cheap and great quality. The restaurant was very clean.
Bryan showed my some places to get some souvenirs - he explained what price to pay so I didn't get ripped off. I brought home some great miniatures of the warriors to Australia.
Due to my limited time in Xi'an we then went to the Emperor's burial site.
Again Bryan provided great detail and information to this site.
He then returned my to the airport so I was not late to my flight.
In summary I was picked up and returned to the airport.
The itinerary was as planned and agreed prior to leaving Australia.
Bryan provided a professional and informative guide service for the day.
Bryan took numerous pictures of me around the warrior pit for my personal memories.
The driver, "Charlie" and the car provided was modern, clean and had good air conditioning.
The driver was very good and drove carefully.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Bryan and his personalised tour service in Xi'an to any prospective travellers to the area.
Next time I will ensure I spend an overnight stay in Xi'an and will hire Bryan for the two days.
If you want a truly life changing experience and a truly educated, well spoken, great English and professional tour guide whilst in China or this area I would suggest you contact Bryan.
I wish him and his service all the best for the future and look forward to meeting him again next time I travel to the region.

I chose Bryan on TA's recommendations but having returned from the trip I think quite possibly that Bryan must have had something going on in his life during the time he was our guide. True, he answered my emails promptly; true, he met us as arranged at the station, true, he suggested a different show to the one I suggested (which was enjoyable); true, he was polite & friendly; true, he seemed to know his history but at that point, my experience differs from previous reviewers. I found his English pronunciation difficult to understand and like one of the previous reviewers, I felt that as he has been a successful guide for some 14yrs, he has become a little numb to the excitement of a first & only-time visit to The Warriors which for most visitors it will be. The Warriors themselves were disappointing. Having read the literature I expected 4-6000 warriors on display but not so - less than 200 Bryan informed us. Bryan also took us up to the Xi'an Ancient City Wall as agreed - what a disappointment that was for 50rmb! I wouldn't recommend that on any visitor's itinerary! He also took us to the Mosque and the Muslim quarter where we had something to eat which was nice and to the courtyard puppet show which I wouldn't recommend people bother with. If the intention is to watch the Fountain show in the main square at 9pm, I recommend people arrive no later than 8.30 as there are crowds of people and if you're not at the front, then you can't see anything.

I started to research Xian trip few months back and this name "Bryan" always pop up. I sent him an inquiry and true enough he lived up to expectation with very prompt reply providing me with very informative information.
Originally, I wanted to do the trip in Nov last year but due to my late confirmation he was booked so I defer to Feb this year instead as I felt comfortable dealing with him.
Please see my itinerary below:
Day1 - arriving Xian, collection from airport to hotel and free & easy for the night
Day2 - go to Wudangshan, stayed on top of the mountain
Day3 - continue Wudangshan and left after lunch to drive back to Xian
Day4 - Longmen Grottos and Shaolin Temple
Day5 - Huashan
Day6 - Terra-cotta Warrior Museum, Ban Po Village, Xian City Wall
Day7 - Shanxi History Museum, Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Muslim quarter and the Great Mosque, Bell and Drum Tower Square
Day8 - Hanyangling Tomb before going to airport
Having spent 8 days with Bryan, I'm very impressed with his service level, knowledge level as well as his honesty and sincerity. When he is not sure, he told us upfront that he is not familiar instead of pretending he knew everything but he still does his homework giving us as much info as he can as in our case - Wudangshan where he let us know this is also his first trip as well.
If you need a guide in Xian, Huashan or Wudangshan, Bryan is the one for sure. I will not hesitate to recommend Bryan to anyone as I know he will live up to the high expectation of service excellence.
Thank you Bryan; both my wife and I have a delightful and memorable experience in the last 8 days with you.

Hi I definitely recommend BryanBai, he is a really good english speaking tour guide. Has a wealth of knowledge and has alot to talk about. He arranged pick up from train station when we arrived, provided transport everywhere on the day of the tour and arranged drop off at airport the day we left. What i liked most about him was his communication before during and after the tour. Even to this day he emails just to say hi. Go on his website and get in touch with him he will reply pretty quickly.
