My family used Emma Tours for our recent holiday to Xi'An, China from 25-29 Feb 2016. On the day of arrival, the vehicle picking us up was punctual at the airport and our name was displayed correctly by the driver. From past experience, It is common to have name spelt wrongly! While walking to the transport to load our luggage, Someone from Emma Tours called us to confirm the safe pick up which was really heart warming. In addition, he also gave us some suggestions for our first night despite the fact that our booking with Emma starts officially the next day. It was indeed a good start to our trip. Michael Chang (小常)was our official guide. He was the most friendly, caring, accommodative guide and took care of us like his own family. A 3D land tour was what we booked but we got more then we could bargain for! Over the few days, 小常 was responsible and went at great length to explain every detail/history/narration to us. He was knowledgeable and humorous! Everything you would ask for in a guide and more! We were indeed blessed to have him as our guide. In China, it is common to have tour group bringing guests to many areas to shop instead of places of interest. However, Emma Tour is very ethical! There was absolutely no shopping unless requested by us. And our guide kept telling us that the stuff we wanted to buy could be cheaper and fresher at super mart as compare to the tourist traps places and advised we buy from there instead for a better bargain. Hence, we merely window shop at places like Muslim Quarters to enjoy the local delights and bought majority of the local tidbits at local Super marts. Indeed value for money! Again, thanks to 小常! We would definitely recommend Emma Tours to all. Have a great holiday guys!

Emma's Tours was recommended to us by friends we visited in China this past September. From the planning stages forward, Emma was very accommodating and helpful in working out the details of what we wanted to do and incorporating it into her tour structure. She also had good hotel recommendations which we couldn't have been happier with. We did two 3 day tours with Emma: One in Beijing in early September and later in the month we went to Xi'an. Our guide in Beijing was Jun. He was a very personable young man and knowledgeable about all the attractions we went to. We learned many historical facts from him and were completely satisfied with his guidance in Xi'an, our guide was Cindy. We couldn't have asked for better! She was very friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and was able to change our tour structure around to better accommodate our time there. She too taught us much about China which wasn't just related to the attractions we were seeing. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Xi'an with Cindy! The drivers for both tours were also good guys. They were good drivers and very accommodating. They always had water at the ready when we got in the car. Emma's Tours was definitely a very positive part of our month in China! Steve & Sue

Emma is now based in the US, but she is knowledgeable and connected; arranged not only our Xi'an tour (which was the basis of our initial contact), but also 3 days in Beijing, and train tickets for us. She was very patient with us as we evolved our plans, which involved 2 couples, even spending an hour on the phone with us during this planning phase. Addressing our experience in Xi'an here, she set us up with Cindy, an exceptional guide for an amazing day. We made a stop at the Wild Goose Pagoda, where we were guided by a local student for an interesting visit to a beautiful Buddhist Temple site. We were then off to see the Terra Cotta Warriors, one of the highlights of our trip to China. The history is fascinating, and actually seeing this phenomenon is hard to describe - a true wonder of the world. The last stop of the day was at the city wall of Xi'an; I found this unexceptional as we had been on other city walls (in Pingyao) which were much more scenic. Xi'an itself is a large city; beyond the interesting Muslim quarter it was hard for me to see any great charm. So I would have skipped the walk on the wall; we enjoyed seeing the wall lit up at night much more, and walking through the parks that surround it which teemed with life - people dancing, doing Tai Chi, etc. Still, the day tour was wonderful, and Emma both a professional and a lovely person who I highly recommend working with.

I travelled to China in September 2012, Emma was my tour guide for a three week tour. Her knowledge and service was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for her, she provided everything we asked for and was a great friend. Her organisational skills were second to non and the whole trip ran smoothly with any small issues being ironed out immediately and with little fuss. I would certainly use Emma again next time I visit China

My husband and I went to China to visit my son who works in Shenzhen in early January. We took a side trip to visit Beijing and Xi'an since we don't get to go to China often. We contacted a few tour operators while planning the visit and decided to go with Emma's Tours. She was very responsive and professional when we exchanged emails about the visiting. She arranged our private tours both in Beijing and Xi'an. I have to say from the moment of the airport pick up to the last minute of the tour, everything went beyond our expectation. She made sure to accommodate to our special request, such as getting an handy oxygen tank and going to local's house to make dumplings. Another thing worthy mention is that she made sure to only take us to go to local restaurants which was really special for visitors.
