Xi'an Expo Park - Really loved this beautiful expo park, so much to see that it will take easily 4-5 hours.

Awesome place. Try to take bikes or smth like that to walk there, because the territory is huge. You will be exhausted after a half of the way.

Some fantastic photo opportunities
Aug 2017 • Solo
Okay so parts of this have become rum down. But it adds to the charm. I found so many photo opportunities. Lots of wedding couples come here for photos too. It's huge so I suggest riding a bike round. You can rent one very easily.

Lots of maps which helped me navigate.
Great coffee shop in the love city area.

Metro station xianghuwan on line 3.

I wasn't expecting much but it was awesome

A Fun Day out
Dec 2013 • Family
This was a great place to take the kids. It is free to enter, but the first time we rode our bikes there to find out that you couldn't take the bikes in; hence a second trip to the Expo site. Once inside you can hire these cool little bicycle vehicles and cycle your way around. This was the highlight of the kids!

If you also want to see some fun sights, you can people watch all the photographers with their 'brides and grooms.' The photographers are everywhere taking shots at the different locations around the park with their actors! This was also appreciated by the children!

It is a lovely peaceful day out, but it is a long way from downtown. If you are staying at the Kempinski Hotel it is within easy reach.

A further attraction in Xi'an
Jul 2011
The expo 2011 in Xi'an is widely publicised in the terracotta army's city. It is located in the outskirts of the city. You may reach it by public bus. Several lines converge there, from the bell tower roundabout you may take bus n. 4 expo (written in chinese), do not confuse it with n. 4 regular, since it will drive you to the middle of nowhere. The expo site is amazing. On a few artificial islands in the middle of a lake they built several pavillons and gardens. Among the main attractions we mention the main pavillon at the entry, a more than 50 mts high steel and glass pagoda, a small zoo including pandas and golden monkeys. We were the only Europeans visiting the site, even if the fair is labelled as international and you can find plenty of signals in English. When we visited the expo, it was in the middle of the week, the place was really crowded. And that was a problem. There were really long lines to visit the main attractions. We lined for 1,5 hours to visit the zoo, but it was worth waiting, since we really wanted to see the pandas. All in all we would recommend visiting the expo if you have some spare time in xi'an. It will take you one full day to make it, but we think it is more interesting than some widely publicized attractions such as the wild goose pagoda.
