We really enjoyed this peaceful place tucked away in Xi'an. We also climbed to the top of the tower, and highly recommend doing this. But we do need to add that the stairs are steep and irregular for those who struggle with stairs. The view was great, and the whole experience was wonderful.

This gives you an introduction to ancient Chinese architecture. While the buildings and the site itself are not overly large it is certainly a place for a pleasant and peaceful sojourn away from the hustle and bustle of a Chinese city. The gardens in particular are very beautiful and I pay homage to the planners and the gardeners for creating... More

Situated in a small park, this is an attractive classical pagoda. The small drum and bell towers either side are nicely complimentary

YThis was part of our tour, we thought it was just another temple. Were we surprise, our guide Kevin was fantastic, definately knew the history of this amazing building. What surprised me was the age of the trees surrounding the temple; 1,300 years!. Great photo opportunity. We had a caligraphy lesson by a fantastic lady. Well worth a visit, but... More

A nice attractions with a typical Chinese courtyard before you enter the attraction. Examples of Chinese writing and art work can be seen here.

This historical site is also located in a lovely park, also containing the very worthwhile Xi'an Museum. It's worth spending a couple of hours in this area.

My favourite part of the Pagoda was the park it was in. If you are looking for a relaxed area, this is really nice. It has a lake and some tradicional Chinese buildings. Good for a picnic. There a metro station very close by, as well as a shopping mall with western restaurants.

Unfortunately we did not have a lot of time for our visit but it was amazing. The grounds the Pagoda is in are lovely and the original Bell from the Bell Tower is there. A replica bell is usually available to e see but it was off limits at our visit. During our visit we were thanked by a Chinese... More

It was originally built of blue bricks during the Tang Dynasty (618-907). It has withstood dozens of earthquakes, as it was built on the foundation of rammed earth. As a result of a violent earthquake in 1487, it cracked in the middle and lost the two upper storeys. The crack was over 1.1 feet (0.33 meter), but the two parts... More

Fascinating 8th century pagoda with numerous ancient buildings within the compound. Well worth spending time in the serene gardens and buildings. Much more interesting and less touristy than the symbol of Xi'an, it's "big brother", the 7th century big wild goose pagoda.
