Closed for now.
Dec 2020 • Couples
We weren't able to enter as it's closed due to reconstructing work.
We only saw a bit of it and the park, from the Xi'an museum. We saw a sign of 15RMB, but we have understood that the entrance is for free. The pictures are from the Xi'an museum.

Suprisingly well worth a visit
Apr 2019
The small goose pagoda is located within the city and it takes a bit to find it. It is well preserved and hidden in a park. The pagoda was built in 684 in honor of the Tang dynasty Emporer.

Smaller Pagoda ... then Wild Goose
Oct 2019
I had to ring the bell by the Small Goose Pagoda and I made a wish for my wife and I. The Gardens were terrific to walk around with lots of nooks and crannies. The pagoda itself is in disrepair.

Nice place to understand history
Oct 2019 • Family
You can learn the history of the small goose pagoda and understand why part of the structure has collapsed. It is slightly off the main attraction areas, but definitely worth a go. It is free to enter, just need to present your passport to claim the free tickets.

You can ring the bell nearby for a small fee
Oct 2019
This pagoda was nice but nothing outstanding, the gardens were lovely and we took the opportunity to make a wish while ringing the bell. We were on a tight schedule so did not look at the museum also there.

Small Wild Goose Pagoda in Xian
Nov 2019
The Small Wild Goose Pagoda was very interesting and our first experience visiting and seeing a pagoda. Even more interesting than the Pagoda itself (which I didn't entire or climb to the top) were the grounds surrounding the Pagoda which was built on a small hill area. The paths around the Small Wild Goose' grounds were beautifully landscaped and full of interesting monuments and interesting "items".

Beautiful Pagoda
Dec 2019
Is free for everyone. Only need to register passport or ID at the ticket counter, then you can enter for free. The Pagoda is beautiful. We took less than 40 minutes to walk around the Pagoda and garden. Then we went to Xian Museum just beside the Pagoda, both places are connected. Easy to walk.

Part Of A Sweet, Gem of A Park
Oct 2019
At least when we were there, the area just outside the entrance to the park where this pagoda is located, was a wreck, literally. Homes just outside the wall here, were being torn down and it was kind of a sad sight. On the other hand the park here is a sweet one, a real gem in fact, with not only the Small Goose pagoda (a bit underwhelming in its decay, plus, you can't get close because there is now a fence around it, for safety reasons), but a couple of small workshops, including one for wood carvers where you can watch them at their work (beautiful handiwork!), a "historic dwellings" site project, a calligraphy museum, a museum of antique porcelain, the Xi'an Museum, the giant wishing bell/gong (pay a few yuan and you can ring the giant, ancient bell and make a wish), plus old, old gnarly trees amidst the park's grassy areas. Get passed the demolished exterior and you will enjoy the unique park inside here.

Enjoyable visit
Nov 2019
Included in visit to Small Goose Pagoda was a visit to the Caligraphy Class. There's also a gift shop in same building, but the grounds are well maintained and relaxing.

Lovely gardens surround Pagoda
Nov 2019
I enjoyed the gardens as much as the Pagoda. There are some ancient trees here! But it was the colours of the autumn foliage that had me mesmerised! The birds and squirrels held my attention too. We were given a short calligraphy lesson and painting demonstration which were both interesting and enjoyable. A pleasant visit, but not a must-see.
