I did a lot of research before signed up for the Japan Stunning trip. For a similar itinerary at another company the price is at least doubled. I am amazed by the value. Now because of the coronavirus I have also postponed my trip to 202- without any additional cost. I am confident we will have a vaccine by the end of 2020.

I contacted stunning tours due to the concern about the coronavirus in China last week. They offered me free reschedule of the tour to any date in 2020 or 2021. After discussions with my family we still couldn't decide when to go. So the company said it's okay to decide later and just tell them. This company cares their clients a lot and truly makes effort to make people happy. I am sure we will have a wonderful time on the China trip with them!!

Tour was originally booked for September. I was told that I could pay for the remaining balance in August. Eventually I decided to rescheduled my trip for 2021 September and Stunning Tours waived the change fee for me. Very decent company.

Read the reviews of Stunning Tours on Google Reviews to see how this travel company has ripped off consumers during the Covid pandemic. In January 2020, I booked a guided Japan tour with Stunning Tours for my family. I paid for 1/2 of the trip. The trip was supposed to happen in November 2020. Due to the pandemic, I requested a refund, which Stunning Tours agreed to (less $300 cancellation) in July 2020, after I got Travelzoo involved. I signed and submitted the cancellation form that Stunning Tours emailed to me. Stunning Tours said my refund would be issued a few weeks after the original departure date in November 2020. Fast forward to February 2021 and I still have not received a refund. My emails go unanswered, unless I get Travelzoo involved again. And the phone calls go unanswered as well. This travel company cannot be trusted.

Buyer beware. I bought a China tour with them for April 2020. I paid the downpayment. They were very quick to collect the money and sent constant reminders on when the payments were due. Due to COVID I rescheduled the tour to April 2021. However, due to other circumstances in September of 2020 I contacted them for a full refund for the trip. I sent in the forms they required for the refund to be processed. I emailed and followed up with them on the status of the refund. All I was getting was a delayed response why they cannot provide the refund: first they told me that they cannot refund to the card, they had to mail the check.; 2. second, they told me that it it not a full refund because of the cancellation fees and when asked to produce the policy, they emailed us a snippet of cancellation policy without full company policy as it is usually written in the procedures pamphlet; 3. they emailed me stating that it would take them about 10 weeks to mail the check for refund.; 4. When deadline to mail the refund passed, they were asked to mail it by UPS, FEDEX or certified mail so it can be tracked, no response. 5. They take about 15 days to respond and point fingers at each other who "might" have an answer on refund: Lyra Song, Peter who is supposedly the manager, Yvonne Hou are the people so far involved in this charade. 6. I sent in refund request form several times per their request as if they lost the original ones somehow including my emails. Do not deal with this company, they will take your money and this appears to be a total scam.

I was promised a refund for our April China tour that was cancelled. Similar to others, I received an email on April 18th, saying not to be surprised if the money wasn't in my account before June 10th. It's now heading on 7 weeks after that June 10th date and no one is responding to my emails or phone messages.
I understand things are hard, but I'd planned on using this company once tourism opened back up, but how can I when they ghost me?

My husband and I joined on the 11 day Spendid Japan tour in September. The process for booking was good. We bought tickets with air, but that was cancelled a few weeks after we booked, so we had to book our own flights. Which, of course was more expensive than what we initially paid when booking with Stunning Tours. Our emails were answered quickly. We were picked up promptly from the airport and sent to our hotel.
Our guide, Mohini, was initially very enthusiastic and did her best. As the tour went on, we felt like the quality of the tour declined. In the beginning, she would give us history, etc and take us around the location if we wanted. Later on, we were just dropped off at locations and told to meet back in an hour, two hours, etc and no one could really find her. At some locations, we were stuck for 1-2 hours when it could have been a 30 min stay (ie: outdoors Japanese Garden in sweltering heat, Tokyo Tower literally 2 floors, not including the 2 viewing decks). Most of our group was at the meeting spot earlier than the tour guide by 30 mins.
At another location (Meiji Shrine), we took 10-15 mins to walk there and were ushered back to the bus after only being there for 15 mins. We barely had time to look around. Asakusa was the best part of our souvenir shopping, but they dropped us there at 08:50 am for an hour when most of the shops opened at 10 am. We went back during our free day and it was amazing. Some places were closed, some plans changed (we tried to be understanding that covid changed things, but shouldn't this have been checked on the day before we left at least?). Two of the optional tours were cancelled completely and our tour guide left 2 days before we did.
I think the worst part was when we were taken to Ginza (high-end retail) to do our souvenir shopping. No one bought anything because who has money to buy souvenirs from Dior, YSL, Prada etc? Not to mention, we have those stores in the US already. We were dropped there for 2.5 hrs. All in all, the tour was okay, but left a lot to be desired.

Dear guest,
Thanks a lot for the valued information. The reason that we weren't able to provide the air inclusive packages is that the airlines we have contracts with(Air China and China Eastern) aren't flying the route this year. As you can see in your booking, the package you got was $1199(land only package)+the airfare. We refunded the air portion back to you, and also lowered our land only package price from $1199 to $999, which is a $200 per person price deduction. We know it's not our fault, but we offer the $200 per person discount just for the inconvenience you experienced.
I want to thanks again for providing us feedback about the tour guide. We have already suspended our association with her after this group returned to the U.S. Since the pandemic, many of our previous tour guides decided to leave the travel industry, and it's difficult to find good guides. But that's not our excuse. We will hire new tour guides with good experiences and reputation for all our future tours.
I hope we can still earn your business sometime in the future.
Have a wonderful day!

I do NOT recommend this tour company. We booked our 9 Day Splendid Japan tour (air inclusive) for 2022 but were never told it wasn't happening because the country was closed for tourists, so it was pushed to this year ('23). Then we get notified that the airfare is more expensive so we have to fork over an additional $350 per person. Finally, they booked our flights and we got our itinerary, yay we're on our way to Japan...wait, one day late?! Our tour group had already left Osaka when we arrived so we LOST one day of our 9 day vacation. Which, actually is even less than that because they include the travel days as part of the trip? So now we've missed the optional Hiroshima day because we have to catch-up to our group and take a separate bus to Kyoto, which we also missed the full experience of. What did they offer as compensation? ONE measly optional excursion. I will say that the tour guides were competent and knowledgable and the tours were adequate, though as with most organized tours can feel bit rushed.
Japan is an amazing place and I highly recommend visiting, just NOT with Stunning Tours.

Before the Pandemic I organized a group of 25 guests and we signed up for a China trip with Stunning Tours. Unfortunately Covid 19 ruined the travel business. Instead of cancelling the tour, my client chose to postpone the tour to a later date. Two years later China still has no sign of reopening, so we decided to apply our payment toward a different trip. And we went to Japan instead. I was so glad we made this decision. We had to apply for a visa, and pay for higher air tickets, but they were all worth it! Japan is such a clean, lovely and beautiful country. Everything we experienced in japan was a delight, just like the name of the tour "Japan Delight". Stunning Tours weren't able to deliver the air inclusive package because Air China isn't operating this year. We all booked air tickets on our own. Stunning Tours still provided airport greeting and pick up services and it was very comfortable and convenient. If you are looking to book a Japan tour, try to book osaka arrival because of the smaller airport, so it's easy to get around!

I've been trying to reach this company regarding our refund for a cancelled Japan tour. We payed in full and were promised a full refund. This is the third week of unanswered emails and phone calls. Had anyone been successful at reaching them?

I have a family of 3 (me, my spose, and my 17 yr old daughter). We are interested in the 10 day Enchanting China tour. I am wondering what size the hotel beds are? If I book 2 beds for the tour, are the beds big enough for 2 adults? I would not want her to be in her own room.
Written December 26, 2019
You will be fine, just ask for 2 beds. The hotels were 4 stars and the beds were full size or queen size. Worst case is if you get 2 twin beds, just as the guide or hotel manager to upgrade your room at a slight cost. It is very important to get a good nights rest as the days are very busy and tiring. China is a large and great country, have a great time.

For the Japan tour, what airline did you fly on? (And where did you depart from? I would be leaving from LAX.)
Written December 11, 2019
I had Stunning Tours book my air to Japan and I flew United from LAX. The outbound flight to Japan (11/25/19) had a connection through San Francisco and the return flight (12/03/19) was a direct to LAX. Service was good. Duration of flight from SF to Osaka/Kansai was 12 1/2 hours and from Narita/Tokyo to LAX 10 hours. I paid $810 for the round trip which is very reasonable.

Hello, can anyone tell me if this would be kid friendly?(3 yr old) Would I be able to bring a stoller to most of the sites visted ?
Written November 29, 2019
Another option is if you have a free day in Shanghai, you could go to Shanghai Disney. The metro in Shanghai goes directly there and the stop is called Disney. Prices are more reasonable than in the United States and the 3 year old will have a great time. Always stroller friendly at Disney.

Hi - we're looking to book Stunning Tours' 16 day China tour and have a few questions if you're willing to share.
1. Is there a goodly amount of time at actual scenic sites and not just shopping excursions/experiences?
2. Is there American food at the breakfast buffets and is it edible? My partner is very limited in what they'll eat - mainly meat and potatoes kind of eating - eggs, bacon, pancakes, potatoes for breakfast.
3. Per above, do you know if we could bring a box of granola bars into the country?
4. How were the flights over and back? How long of a layover? We'll be flying from LAX.
5. How should we handle money there? Can we use ATMs at all? Or just carry US$ cash?
thanks so much!
Michele

I loved the 16 day tour. To answer your questions:
1 there was plenty of time at historical sites. Never felt rushed. Some of the shopping sites were very interesting such as seeing how silk is made and the tea place
2Buffets always had eggs, fried scrambled or omelets ,and bacon
Bread for toast. Lots of Asian dishes and some were delicious. Fresh fruit and a few sweets
3Granola fine
4Flights are long 15 hrs from JFK and then a 4 hr lay over before last 3 hr flight
5 I exchanged some money before going. Can exchange at all hotels. Tips and extra excursions can be paid in US dollars. Chinese needed for small shops and restaurants. Food very inexpensive
Good luck. Trip was great. Guides were wonderful and so helpful. Hope you get Jeffrey in Shanghai
Written November 29, 2019
Were things there expensive e.g. foods, sightseeing tour tickets etc. did you need to exchange to Japanese money to pay?
Written October 31, 2019
I didn’t find things to be any more than what i would pay in the States. You will definitely need yen.

Hi, you mentioned you had to arrange for transportation from hotel to Tokyo airport. I thought the tour included all transportation needs. I’ll check with the agent to make sure before going. Thank you for the tip.
Written October 31, 2019
For Japan tours, upon arrival at Osaka Airport, there is hotel shuttle to take people to the hotel and tour guide will help. But when the tour finishes, the transportation isn't included.
Written October 31, 2019
did you take any of the optional tours listed on the brochure (most are $50 each). If so how did you get to the venue? Thanks
Written October 18, 2019
We took the optional tours and loved them. The zoo was wonderful as saw so many pandas up close. The night cruise in a Shanghai was also great. Do not miss the gorge cruise offered on the Cruise ship with the trackers. Could have skipped the dumpling banquet but our group was so much fun it was ok. Guides make the trip. Hope you get Jeffrey in Shanghai.

All of our breakfast were buffet. There were Chinese and American options from noodles to eggs! There are a ton of American fast food restaurants and nice restaurants that feature American cuisine. No complaints about the food👍

Hi. Sorry for the delay in replying. The breakfasts in the hotels were buffet breakfasts. Always a good choice of food- eggs, toasts, cereals etc
some of the hotels had western menus. Also, Mcdonalds, KFC, Burger King, Starbucks are everywhere in China
