The night we went there, the light was kind of a basic. The wall was lit up in purple but what we and other people enjoyed more was a concert. There were some local bands, mostly rock music, to play some famous Chinese hits on a stage right in front of the main gate to the City Wall. I enjoyed the music, did a lot of dancing with my daughter. But was surprised how boring other people were who mostly standing and recording, not even dancing despite the singer was trying to motivate them. Anyways, it was a great evening there. But the Light show was rather basic and I expected a bit more from that.

we came here in May with a group, but it is easy to find yourself. The centre of Xian is taken over by wonderful illuminations. The walls and buildings just look spectacular. The shopping streets, pagodas and pedestrian areas are alive with coloured lights too. Everyone comes out to walk and relax and enjoy the displays. Do not miss!
