If you are visiting Guilin and you have check-in luggage, dare go downstairs in the main plaza and you will enter in another world, shops, shops, shops with lots of clothes at ridiculous prices. Cheap, maybe not good quality but I bought working black pants for 3 dollars each and I loooove them! Do not forget to try the street... More

This is a great starting point for any travelers to the area and good meeting point for friends. The open space is nice to let the kids run around. The walking street is near by with lots of places to eat and shop. There's also a movie theater and KTV places.

We stayed at the Waterfall Hotel, so after dinner we walked to the pedestrian street, did some shopping there and then came here for the 10-minute waterfall show that started at 8:30. It was a Saturday and the city provided cultural show on stage with dancing, singing, and other interesting performances. The waterfall show was pretty but after the show... More

Nothing in particular to look at but will probably come across it at some point while walking around town or going to/from the train station.

This square is the city center of Guilin. It's surrounded by numerous establishments, banks, department stores, shops, restaurants, walking street, McDonald's, KFC, etc. The walking route for the two rivers and four lakes (Sun and Moon Tower) is right there. Very convenient for public transport.

The vibrant center of the city. Close to "Walking Street" and major shopping centers. THE place to view the Waterfall Hotel nightly waterfall display.

Well, It is pretty, but so much more to see here, explore the countryside, take a bus ride, check out the Pagodas. People are friendly and plenty to see, Central Square can be passed up to spend time off the beaten track!

The Central Square, or City Center, is not really an attraction, per se. However, it is the heart of the city around which are many shops, restaurants, and attractions. Usually, it is sensory overload as I walk amongst thousands of people bustling about with so many sites and smells. If you come to Guilin, I would recommend starting here. Within... More

There is nothing special about this square. We met two persons both claimed they running a travel agency and asked us about our plans. We trid some street foods there and the price and quality was ok. Very expensive shoping area (pedestrian only street) is near by.

Its a huge concrete area - outer edges has the kiddie rides, souvenir stands and food carts but this huge space can be characterized as a parking lot. Some ballroom dancing happens in the evening but when we went, there was nothing else happening. Amazing how many people were just walking around seemingly aimlessly. As other posters mentioned, it right... More
