Resembling an elephant drinking water from the Li River with its long trunk, this hill towers more than 55 meters above the water.

Nice place to visit

The highlight is the trail up the hill, from where you have a nice view of Guilin and the exotic surrounding mountains. Also, the riverside landscape is beautiful.

A visit here is a must, but leave plenty of time as there is so much to see in the area ! Two rivers, four lakes, pagodas all within easy walking area.

You really have to stretch (and perhaps break) your imagination to see an Elephant Trunk in this rock formation. This visit entirely disappointed and the environs of the surrounding park didn't impress much either. We had wanted to like this but it was truly average (barely worth a visit, to be honest).

Most of the best landscapes are actually in Yangshuo and not in Guilin but if you spend one day in Guilin you should go there. It's really close to downtown. The entrance ticket is 110RMB (you always need cash to pay for tickets) The views are not the best compared to what you can have in other cities, but it's... More

I had an hour of time to kill before leaving Guilin so I popped in to see this. The park cost ¥70 to enter. There are other things to see here so if you have a day to just enjoy a park, this might be a nice option, but the actual elephant rock is ultimately just a rock. Takes a... More

The scenic area is special and easily accessible. With a view to the river, the Elephant Trunk Hill stands alone is unique.

This is all about the rock that looks like an elephant's head. Although a bit pricey at 50 RMB the ten minute trip on a raft is worth it to see the second elephant head on the far side of the big rock. It is situated low down near the waterline. A pleasant walk and a little cooler because of... More

Stayed right across Elephant Trunk Hill, which was a good thing as it only took me five minutes to walk to this park. Apart from the famous hill, you can also hike all the way up to get a good view of Guilin city.

The Elephant Trunk Hill per se is nice to look at because of the unique form, but that's about it. The tickets for going up the hill cost 70 RMB and therefore are ridiculously overpriced as there is nothing spectacular to see in fact. Going up takes you about 5 minutes if you're normally fit, so calling it a climbing... More

This park is kind of boring. The public does visit here and you will witness all the usual disgusting public behavior one finds in China at this location.
