I used to live beside there. It's a park located at one corner of Guilin.
Maybe small amount of travellers will visit there, but the biggest influx of people consisted with residents.Especially in the evening, after dining, people come out from houses and go for a walk in the park. What a cosy life!

Chuanshan Hill Cave is part of the larger Chuanshan Park [穿山公園], lying on the east bank of Li River [灕江]. The nicest photo spot in the park is Pagoda Hill [塔山] on the west bank and its reflection on the river.

Since it is a karst cave, Chuanshan Hill Cave is of course beautiful, but it is not as grand as either Silver Cave or Reed Flute Cave [蘆笛岩]. The only spots I remember from the cave were the Stalagmite of Longevity [壽星迎賓], which I told mom to touch; the Crystal Palace [水晶宮], where we set aquarium fishes free into a pond; a cavern illuminated to look like Asgard [玄武仙境]; and the exit where calligrapher Long Huey [龍輝] wrote impromptu poems based on the characters of one's Chinese name onto a Chinese foldable fan. I had one made for RMB50. Here it goes: 「雷動驚天下, 錦繡壯中華, 煌煌東昇日, 幸福富貴家.」The sound of thunder shakes the earth; we see a splendid and majestic China. The brilliant sun rises from the east; here's to a happy and prosperous family! The fan will forever remind me of my visit to Chuanshan Hill Cave.

Waking or cycling in Guilin, you are easy to find the thousand of hills, every of which have a carve. Chuanshan is one of it. It has special views itself like moon carve. You will enjoy Guilin mountains and rivers there

The cave is pretty with lots of interesting shapes. I was most amazed by a pool that provides a reflection so perfect that I thought it was a hole on the rock formation! Opposite the cave is a great sunset spot. I missed the magical moment but saw lots of photographers set up to capture sunset of the hill with pagoda on top.

The admission ticket is to the cave. It was 80 RMB. The cave is nothing spectacular. It is more of a tourist trap. You can miss this on your visit. The area is old and run down. More for locals I think. There are much better places to see and spend your money on. The climb to the old pagoda is interesting. Steep climb with no handrails. You get to the top and the pagoda is sealed off. And, you have no railings at the top. It is a nice view. But there are better places to get a view. The park and climbing is free.

We were taken to this park by a pedi-cab driver, arriving around 1:00pm and spent 3 hours here. This park contains an island, a pagoda on a hill, a cave and lookouts. After paying to get in, we went on a tour of the cave. The tour guide spoke chinese, which we did not understand. The cave was illuminated by many multi-coloured lights, showcasing an array of stalactites, stone pillars and rock formations, all with fanciful chinese names. It also contained a temple and shops! On exiting we climbed many steps to the lookout, for good views of Guilin. We had the lookout to ourselves. After descending, we crossed the Xiaodong River to the small island and over a moon bridge to Pagoda (Tower) Hill. We didn't climb (as we had done enough climbing). There was no activity in the many restaurants along the river, so we bought an icecream from a food stall and sat on tiny stools. We then climbed to the large hole in the hill that gives the park its name, Pierced or (Penetration or Tunnel) Hill. While similar to other parks in Guilin, this park was much less crowded.
