Guangzhou Zoo

It was a short pleasant trip after lunch. There's restaurants inside as well and the water features and birds were the best part. Otherwise a lot of animals many I haven't seen live before.

Weekend free time you can take the kids here to have a look and get to know the animal species or something, I saw this attraction on the small WeChat program Canton Laowai

Great!

This zoo is amazing, there are lots of animal species from around the world. Nature is also amazing! If you have enough time in Guanghzou, I recomend you to visit it! You can count on spending 2,3 hours there.

Only went there for the pandas
Oct 2019 • Family
I only went to the Guangzhou Zoo to see the pandas for the first time in my life. The big pandas were inside their enclosure because it was too hot for them outside haha. So they were inside chewing the bamboo not caring about the taxes and traffic jams in GZ. Red panda was also a nice animal to see after all those videos online. Other animals looked ok but some of them looked a bit sad and their enclosures should be much better. There is even one part where pitons, iguanas, chickens, bunnies, little ducks and turtles are all living together. Guess who was eating who when I got there? Of course a piton was swallowing a poor bunny. Except that they all looked happy living together.

Nicely carred for animals
Aug 2019
We enjoyed our walk through the zoo and seeing the animals. Very nice collection of animals, and some amazingly beautiful statues. But the highlight, is the wonderful animals. Park animals seem to be well carred for, healthy, and in good shape.

Close up to pandas
May 2019 • Solo
Loved the zoo, particularly that you had a good view of the pandas although there weren't many. Beautiful park but very difficult for a disabled person such as me. There were lots of stairs and lots of walking involved, but it was worth it. Plus the entrance fee was minimal.

Rare animal collection is fabulous
Jun 2019 • Family
I was amazed with the number of rare animals in the Zoo. White Bengal tiger, Black leopard, and so on. But the jewel of the Zoo is the giant panda for me.

The zoo is next to the metro station ZOO. Its easy to find. Ticket is 30 RMB for adult. You can see lot of animals in different sections. Bit crowded but that is the way in China. We went in June and weather is so hot that it was unbearable to visitors and also to animals. Please think about the weather before you visit. There is a kids play area available for kids.

I would like to see a facilities upgrade for animals as well as visitors.

Nice place to visit
Apr 2019 • Friends
The closest metro station is Zoo from one side and a couple of stations from another side, entrance fee is 20 rmb for adults and 10 rmb for kids. Nice place, well maintained, cleaned, animals are pretty close to observe, during the week days not crowded. You can definitely spend there a couple of pleasant hours, not far from the downtown area.
