Wonderful & Bustling

The Shanghai Street is one of those places you end up visiting whenever you have guests in town. Though we decided to explore the place in the evening, so we could shop as well as eat in the local eateries there. Loved it !

Lots of stores. Bargain hard.
Jan 2019 • Family
The Shanghai Street is the quintessential tourist magnet where locals and expats love to shop around for bargains. There are a ton of stores selling fakes too... with lots of local eateries and branded stores. You will find something for all ages. Avoid weekends, especially Sundays.... else you will be overwhelmed with people. Enjoy!

The best for shopping and eating
Jun 2015 • Friends
My friends and I always go here when we want really good food and really great shopping experience that being said there are so many people here and it is also a pedestrian road but do not let that fool you like anywhere in southern China people will still drive on it.

Very good option to shop around
Shanghai Walking Street is one of the most important commercial streets in Guangzhou city with its about 250 stores on each side.İt is the first ever commercial walking street in the city since 1995.A lively place with lots of interesting shops and stores for every pocket,so highly recommended to walk down through this shopping arcade and see interesting offers by the shop sales people.

Shanghai road
Feb 2014 • Business
Shanghai road, as the name suggest is built around the old stone road that was used many years ago by the Chinese to travel to the Northern-Chinese city of Shanghai. So, the very obvious name which means that the road leads to SHANGHAI. At first glance it reminded me of Picadilly Circus, London but this one like I mentioned earlier has a Chinese touch to it. It is very touristy and is like one of the places to hang-out for the locals as well. A very unique shopping practice that I noticed was that the sales-staff of every shop would stand at the door of their shop and clap loudly to draw attention of passers-by and chant whatever discount / product they have to offer. Also, there would be men on the street with albums of replica-watches to offer for sale. Beware, of what you get into as its a shady business. We were travelling with a local who informed that the police usually raids such outfits and that's when the prospective-customer also falls in trouble.. So, AVOID IT All-in-all a good experience! You should visit it, if you're in Guangzhou!
