Long described as China's window to the world. Guangzhou is always full of innovation. Flower City Square presents the ultramodern face of the city. Full of imposing skyscrapers and luxury hotels, it is an enclave of wealth and pretension. A stroll around the vast urban square offers an understanding of China's newfound affluence.

We came to the area for dining and a peaceful evening walk, while enjoying the views. There are many restaurants in the area, and offering many price points. After our dinner, we walked around the square and adjacent area to enjoy the evening views, which were becoming more beautified as more structures were lit up. The night views are amazingly beautiful. Many of the surrounding structures are also awesome, such as the Guangzhou Library, Guangdong Museum, Canton Tower, some office towers, and more.

The square is surrounded by many skyscrapers, a multi-floor museum (either Guangdong or Guangzhou Museum), the Guangzhou Library. Nice sculptures in the area. Underground nearby is a large mall.

The GL Land Shopping Mall consists of 4 blocks named after four seasons (Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter). The entire area is huge and wide. As far as shopping is concerned, you can get low to mid range options (eg. AOEN, UNIQLO, Watson, H&M, etc) and high end options (the Friendship Store). Both department stores and supermarkets are available.
For dinning, you will be spoilt with wide range of choices (Canton cuisine, seafood, western cuisine, HK cuisine, Vietnam cuisine, local fast food, Japanese food, etc). One particular restaurant (name: Biau Ge) located in the newly opened Winter Block) serving canton and HK cuisines is a good choice if you are looking for something decent with friends and for family outing.
This mall is perfectly located above Zhejiang New Town metro station and also near APM station.

I had just a few hours between my last meeting and my flight, so I decided to get there. Impressive views of the buildings surrounding the square -including Canton Tower -as well as the river. At night it just get more impressive when the lights are turned on. There are also plenty of restaurants nearby to have dinner. A good choice to admire the incredible architecture of this city.

This Square locates in the CBD of Zhujiang New Town, to go there, you can just take Metro Line 3 or 5, get down from Zhujiang Newtown station, exit from B1, then just walk about 500m to go there.
It's the best place to view the new landmark of Guangzhou (Guangzhou Tower), especially at nights. except Guangzhou Tower, you can also see many modern, beautiful and tall buildings there. When you are tired, you can enjoy the food, drinks, movies or shopping at the base floor. So if you come to Guangzhou, never miss this place.

Great new high class location in the center of the central business district. Public transport abounds underground here, and all taxis will know the spot, and getting here is half the fun as you cruise through Guangzhou's ultra-new downtown. The shops are on an international level, with some local unique boutiques also available for those looking for something new. Eating and entertainment are now just starting to pick up, and with it the crowds. Hurry and catch some superior shopping in Guangzhou's central district, before every one else finds out about it!

This square (also called Flower city Square) is not only the "HUB of New Guangzhou", but is also symbolic of the nature of China's industrial and commercial development. It covers about 140 acres [it is the sixth largest in the World]. It is free of motorised and bicycle traffic so as to make the "Park areas" more pedestrian friendly. In addition to many banks, the square houses the Opera House, Museum and Library... and the Canton Tower is nearby. What is most intriguing is that under the square are many shopping malls, restaurants etc. At night, the square is well/artistically lit. It is a "Must See" as it illustrates the incredible nature of China's economic development, and living standards.

Dear all, what is the best way to tour Huacheng Square? I am bringing a grp of 3 elderly and 2 teenagers. It would be very helpful to advise me on the time and arrival and where to start off the tour and where to end off the tour.. Thank you in advance
Written October 28, 2018
Walking would be the best if the elderly can do it. Starting and ending depends on the hotel you are staying at. We were at W so we walked the whole length of the walkway/park leading towards the river. Best time would be to go there just before twilight so you manage to see the beautiful architecture of surrounding buildings both in daylight and night. Opera House and the museum are worth a visit. If you have time you can do a boat ride. Ask the hotel if wheelchairs can be arranged if required.
