Very nice place to visit. Beautiful tall sky scrappers and more beautiful at night when the lights are switched on.

I walked to the square from the Parc Central Shopping Mall. After cutting through a residential area, and going through an underground walkway, I arrived to the north side of the square. The same underground walkway also leads to the extensive shopping area under the square, which is quite vibrant and popular.
The Square is very impressive, with a multitude of high-rise financial office buildings, the Guangdong Museum, the Guangzhou Library and the Opera House. In the southern end of the Square, closer to the river, is the Canton Tower (and a mid-sized stadium to boot). Lining the square are trees and local plants, including an artificial lake and a coffee house in the middle of that lake. Chirping and other natural noises can be heard at dusk, piped in from the sound system surrounding the lake.
The park is very well maintained and clean - it feels very spacious and is a good place to relax. As you walk around, you can find sculptures and other artsy signs and objects. Dusk is the best time to come to the Square, as you can see the transition of the lighting in the buildings and the Canton Tower. When it gets dark, a light show takes place in synch with the surrounding buildings and the Canton Tower.
Under the square, and extending out of it, is a busy underground shopping, dining and entertainment center. If it gets too hot outside, you can head underground for some good A/C (and ice cream!).
This feels like Hong Kong, but with more space, newer and richer. It is a model for Guangzhou's future.

This area, along the Pearl River, is made up of wide open spaces, with lovely modern architecture (e.g., library, opera house, Canton Tower). There is also a sprawling underground mall. Lovely to see it transition from day to night in the area.

Surrounded by all the new tall buildings of the Central Business District, this Square gives you awesome perspectives of everything around you, and a great place just to pause and relax a moment

I saw this attraction above one small WeChat program, Canton Laowai, which is in a very good location, connecting the various attractions, as well as a large shopping centre

The square is surrounded by many skyscrapers, a multi-floor museum (either Guangdong or Guangzhou Museum), the Guangzhou Library. Nice sculptures in the area. Underground nearby is a large mall.

Dear all, what is the best way to tour Huacheng Square? I am bringing a grp of 3 elderly and 2 teenagers. It would be very helpful to advise me on the time and arrival and where to start off the tour and where to end off the tour.. Thank you in advance

Walking would be the best if the elderly can do it. Starting and ending depends on the hotel you are staying at. We were at W so we walked the whole length of the walkway/park leading towards the river. Best time would be to go there just before twilight so you manage to see the beautiful architecture of surrounding buildings both in daylight and night. Opera House and the museum are worth a visit. If you have time you can do a boat ride. Ask the hotel if wheelchairs can be arranged if required.
