Kaiping is well-known for the Diaolou and old villages in Guangdong Province. This day tour will let you explore the UNESCO site with a local guide.<br><br>Diaolou in Chinese, were listed on UNESCO's World Heritage List in 2007. First built in the early Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), these multi-storied houses were built as small fortresses and watch towers for protection. <br><br>After lunch, head to the Liyuan Garden. Built in 1926, this garden holds a combination of traditional Chinese landscaping as well as western architectural style.<br><br>Then, pay a visit to the Chi Kan Old Town. With its traditional architecture and beautiful views, the town is now a popular place for movie and television drama shoots.

The building isn't remotely bookish. I never went inside, but from the outside, it is a beautiful building. I was surprised to find out it was a library. It looks incredibly good from the outside, especially at night.

Aside from wandering around, ogling the building, there wasn't much else to do as English-speakers, but if you enjoy architecture, pop in and check this building out

I saw this attraction above the small program Canton Laowai in WeChat, the library is very large, altogether has seven floors, the children's area is less crowded during Monday to Friday, suitable for Monday to Friday free

As a traveler I like to take in the various styles of building around the world. Obviously unless you are fluent in Mandarin the library itself is only a visual architectural delight, sadly the reading was beyond me.
