Walked around the temples and reached the top, only disappointed to find out that the Nanling Tower at the top was not open for punlic entry. The view from there was , nonetheless, still amazing and peaceful.
Some stalls were available at the top for some simple snacks and drinks.

To get to this temple and pagoda from Guangzhou take line 4 all the way to the end to Jinzhou which takes about an hour with all the stops. When the train exits the underground and travels above ground people on the train all show a real interest in their surroundings by collectively oohing. When you arrive there are several options to get tp the temple complex which is over 7km away and unwalkable. i chose the 25yuan ride on the back of a motorcycle option which is the most expeditious and is relatively safe. The bus option takes a long time. Once you arrive at the Nansha Bay gate it is about a 15 minute walk to the temple entrance. The fee is a modest 20yuan. There are plenty of worshipping places at each level as you climb to the top. There are drinks and snacks places as well as toilets at each level as well. From the top you get a wonderful view of the mouth of the Pearl River and surrounding Nansha Bay. The beach is dirty but to be expected considering where the water comes and what goes into it. Didn't do much in Nansha city itself.

The temple is about an hour from either Guangzhou or Shenzhen. Your car or public transport can only take you to the main entrance/ square and after which you will have to walk about 15 minutes to reach the main Tian Hou temple. Alternatively, you may want to take a ride on a tourist tram at 5 yuan per person (highly recommended during the hot and humid summer days! - walk to the temple on the way in and take the tram out). Before reaching the temple, you will bypass roadside stalls incense, selling hats, drinks, beancurd dessert, and a beach.
The entrance fee for the temple is 20 yuan.

Be aware that this temple is in NanSha and not PanYu.
We took the NanSha Express bus from the dedicated bus stop near ShiPaiQiao, it’s not easy to find but the buses run every half hour and are quicker, very much more comfortable than the GZ Metro and cost 10Yuan. Alternatively you can take the GZ Metro Line 4 to its terminus at JinZhou. The express bus also terminates JinZhou. Be aware that the last bus back to GZ is 7:30. There are toilets at this station near the bus stops.
Exit the station on the overhead walkway crossing the road. You must get a number 35 bus from the bus stop. For 2 Yuan you get a rather good tour of downtown NanSha but eventually after about 30 minutes you end up at the terminus bus station which is next to the entrance to the park.
There are plenty of signs to the temple. It’s about a 20 minute walk to the temple or you can take one of the electric buses which will drop you at the entrance to the temple.
Entry to the temple is 20 Yuan, unless you can prove you’re over 65 with your passport. There’s a map of the temple on the ticket and a brief history.
The temple is built on the side of the mountain and easy to see, so just head towards it. Be aware that there are steep stone steps galore and it’s a rather tough climb to the top where there’s a tower. If possible have three bangs of the drum and a bong of the bell for a small donation. They’re in their own towers just below the main temple.
Admire the views on the way up.
Outside the main temple there are stalls selling joss sticks, ice cream and cold drinks. The last part of the climb to the tower is rather steep and unfortunately the tower is closed. But hey, you’ve been there!
Coming down, face the main temple and go left and you’ll find a nice road all the way down with nice views of the temple and its approach. Walk past the turtle pond and exit the main gate.
You’ve seen the temple now turn left and enjoy the rest of the park and the strip of sand that’s the beach.
We saw the temple restaurant, looked clean and tide but we’d already stuffed ourselves with noodles and dumplings from a stall at the bus terminal. There’s a rather large amusement park which was in full swing (literally and metaphorically) on May Day. Rather an expensive way (10 and 20 Yuan a ride) I thought of getting rid of your last meal. I suppose it’s closed on weekdays. Then we strolled through the gardens and past the lake back to the bus terminal.
Be aware that most buses will only drop you near JinZhou or JiaoMen metro stations.
If you’re hungry break the bus journey in NanSha town there’s plenty of restaurants, there’s even KFC and Pizza Hut. Our favorite is a Japanese sushi restaurant just around the corner from KFC. The menu has an English translation, not cheap but very good.
All in all, a pleasant afternoon. We’ll go again when it’s not a public holiday and quieter to enjoy the temple and park.

Here is a big garden with some temples.
You may see a tall lady's statue in the center of this garden.
The main temple is located in a little bit higher place which is needed to up some stairs. In addition, you can see the ocean whose opposite side is Shenzhen with many tankers.

We spent the best part of a day here and loved it. Pack some water as there are lots of steps and it gets really warm - even in winter! The temple itself is simply majestic, and if you take the downhill walk, there’s the entrance to a historical fort outdoor museum which was well worth the exploration.

I came here with my tour guide,Albert. He introduced me to here because I am very interested in Asian Temple cultures, and I get what I want,. The temple is closed to the beach, therefore you also can play water here, I like the peaceful feeling here, however, it is far from the city, so, not easy to reach

I took the metro from Foshan (it took about 2hrs) I didn’t know what to expect when I got there, how far away it would be from the metro, how easy it’d be to access it etc but it was fine. Once out of the metro just walk towards the big pagoda. You go through a little park on your way there which is quite nice and then you just follow the signs. It’s ¥20 to get in and stroll around. I walked to the top as I wanted to climb the pagoda but it was closed...that was a big let down. The unobstructed views from there would’ve been spectacular!

This is a nice place to visit if in Nansha. A cascade of temples going uphill, with a nice view from the mountain tip (Tower there was closed to public). It was very hot when we got there (late morning), bring water. The Nansha area itself is good for relaxing: at this point not very densely populated, compared to Guangzhou/Shenzhen etc. but future years will likely change that.

I loved it there! So peaceful! Comparing to the city center in Guangzhou its nearly empty, not so many people go there since it's far. Be ready for climbing lots of stairs in the temple. The temple halls are not so special if u have been to other temples in China but the views form each level of temple is nice! There is small beach which makes this place more relaxing even if we can't actually go to the water. And except if the temple, be sure u go to this Netherlands-style garden! There's a flood of flowers 😍🌸it's amazing and so beautiful even if this place seems a bit old and abandoned. U can get this feeling of place which was better in the past when u go through little amusement park in there. All is open to play but seems like nobody plays there, that's a bit sad. Anyway place is worth to see!
