It is a very beautiful opera house, both inside and out. But when will they have Beijing opera and Sichuan/Chengdu quick mask changing performances? Guangzhou has the facilities, but not the shows. For a great selection of shows, Beijing is by far the leader. Come on Guangzhou, let’s gets more Chinese content.

We toured the inside, and it is just as beautiful as the outside.I like the fat lady sculpture on the outside grounds.

The Guangzhou Opera House is one of the most iconic buildings in Guangzhou. Love the shows that we have watched here.

Interesting design. Looks much better from the outside than in. Managed to catch the blue man group performance there. Staff there helpful with the purchase of tickets. Very limited selection for eating places within the building.

While the architecture is amazing, the service is asolutely horrible. It was raining and we tried to use a side door where many locals were going in. A rude woman at the door told us this was only for very important peole. Ridiculos! The people walking in certainly did not look like it. we had to go thru garage, there were no signs, car blowing the horn etc.... Makes one feel very far from civilization. Net - look at the building from the outside, but go to a concert elsewhere!

Absolutely love the Guangzhou Opera House. Such a gorgeous world class building. There are a lot of points of interest, nice cafe, a nice piano store amongst other things. You will always find people taking selfies or photos here. If you have time, you must check out a show here.

Purposely dropped by this building that was designed by the famous Architect, Zaha Hadid when in Guangzhou. Very disappointed to see the state of the building which completed in 2010. The building already showing cracks and stains everywhere obviously lack of maintenance.

Before we submit our review, pl amend the address to Guangzhou from Gaozhou. Your Map is also wrong and these errors will make it very frustrating for Opera and Architectural devotees to go see the new Opera House. The building is really outstanding and more impressive than, say, the Shanghai Grand Theatre. (Note: This is not meant to be issued as our review but it is only for TA to take follow-up action).

We took the subway to Canton Tower and transferred to the APM to Guangzhou Tower stop. Our 24 hours subway pass at 20 yuan is extremely handy and value for money for moving around in Guangzhou. After exiting the station and got up to ground level, there was a "wow" factor for me to see all the beautifully lighted buildings especially the grand dame-Canton Tower. It was breezy at night too. We saw the Guangzhou Library and walked towards Guangzhou Opera House. We did not have the time to tour the interior. Lovely area for a stroll at night.
