We went there on the Monday of the Qing Ming (Tomb Sweeping) Festival and the place was heaving. We took Line 4 of the metro to Higher Education Mega Centre South and came out of exit B. The bus stop for the village is about 20 metres away. The ride is the usual 2 Yuan and takes about 10 minutes to the north gate entrance of the village.
I reckon it’s a bit of a cheek to charge 60 Yuan (30 if you are over 60 and have got your passport, free if you’re over 70) to visit what essential is a recently built tourist shopping and eating trap which aren’t exactly cheap with entrance to a few old houses thrown in for free. Make sure you get a map with your ticket.
Similar places we’ve visited (see HuangPu which is much more genuine) have been free. Mind you, they’ve been villages with people living in them but LingNan closes for the night.
We flowed with the throng, in and out of old houses, family meeting places, shops. In the family meeting places look up and admire the woodwork. The shops have the usual tourist tat for sale. Plenty of places for snacks and drinks, with clean toilets.
We got places on a bench for the 30 minute afternoon show which is a collection of dancers and acrobats giving a nice slick performance.
If you got children there’s a playground for them.
We strolled around the place. Down to the Pearl River and watched the boats and a dragon boat practicing, even these beginners could make it move fast!
Luckily it was a sunny day; I wouldn’t care to go there when there’s rain about. I reckon we'll go again when it isn't a public holiday.

The village was quiet far from yuexiu district but on the way to that area was a fascinating view of Guangzhou.You can see Canton tower,Pearl river,Cultural center,University city and many more. It is a different sight for us from a busy urban in Guangzhou to this village that has the old structures and still have those old stuffs in the village(also bigger than in ngong pin village). Since we went there in January, it was freezing cold and it was raining my advice is to go there early morning before noon to avoid the crowd. Anyway,children would not be bored because there are also small park and catching fish park. The view was amazing you would never thought that you were already in 2012. If you didn't bring any food and wanted to buy souvenirs.Don't worry there are plenty of foods and souvenirs that are sold inside,they are not expensive. The entrance only cost 45rmb per pax.
This village is located inside the University City,there is a metro going there and just ride a bus(you will not be confused by the bus because there is only one bus that runs inside it). If you want to have a break in your weekend, you could come here and smell the fresh air. Enjoy!!

This was a fine day that my friend, who lives in Guangzhou, suggested we should do. There is a lot to do and see. First we witnessed a mock wedding ceremony in which the bride remained covered until after the ceremony. Well done re-creation with much approval from the onlookers. Then we watched a historical operatic and acrobatic version of the history of the province. Very well done! There are also activites and play areas for children, some good restaurant food, flowers and lakes, puppet shows, crafts, and a small temple. We really enjoyed ourselves. Getting to the park requires a 1/2 mile or more walk through an office complex from the subway so choosing a rain free day is important.When I get bacvk to Guangzhou I would certainluy go back to Lingnan Impression Park!

Guangdong has many great old villages with history, quality architecture, art, food and culture. Lingnan Impression is a copy of one of those villages, minus all of the good stuff. It is a poor, shoddy copy filled with expensive "arts and crafts" and crappy food. For 45 RMB, there really was very little to do. The acrobatics and puppet shows were decent but everything else was just a wll decorated shopping street. Also, there is NO public transportation, zero. This must be the only place in Guangzhou without a bus or smetro station. To see what this place wants to be but can't, visit the Zhumiao in Foshan. It has real history, culture, great shows, a metro stop and lots of buses.

An easy subway ride to Higher Education South station on Line 4. Then follow the sign at the exit and do ask at the local hotel for entrance details as it is a little 'hidden'. Double price to what locals pay at 60 yuan per foreigner entrance fee and visiting on a weekday, it was not too populated with too many people..and that was better than great. The buildings were as authentic as one could expect and the shops were all very realistically priced for food, ice-cream or some souvenirs whereas some take home items were ridiculously priced so remained gathering dust. The highlight must have been the dance show on the outdoor stage. The guys and girls were beautiful to watch, demonstrating their strength and performing abilities. A pleasant outing for a family to enjoy.

This is a replica village showing elements of traditional Guangzhou life. Bear in mind there are still 100's (if not 1,000's) of authentic villages around Guangzhou just like this, so one wonders why they bothered? I guess this one is clean! There are a few shows to watch, fake waterfalls and hidden speakers playing birdsong. It's okay, of you are here for three days and want to get a feel for the "old" China

We spent a day out from Guangzhou visiting the University Campus and marvelled at the construction of all the major teaching institutions. We drove by this garden by chance and found that the developer has done a good job to recreate life in this part of China 60 to 100 years ago. They have significant investment in the buidlings and brought back nostalgia to people of Guangtung heritage as what life was like in those days. The garden visit also included shows produced by teenagers and youngsters. It was overall a pleasant experience and we even went to the Huangpoa Military Academy nearby , completing a day visit to all these places.

If you have an interest in Guangzhou and its culture beyond food and shopping, you will find this a worthwhile attraction. Despite being out of the way, the subway and a walk/motorbike ride will get you there. The park resembles an old town, with beautiful traditional buildings, a lake with a shadow puppet pavillion and a main street full of attractions, including an open air opera house. While many of the buildings are for hawking things, the objects they sell usually are tied in with local culture. It is worth exploring any open door since some exhibitions may be located a bit off the main street. There are art, history, food displays and live shows from opera to puppet theatre. Plus some off-beat things to delight you, such as rooms with optical illusions or displays of Chairman Mao memorabilia. I would recommend spending half a day there so you can soak it all in. You will definitely be enriched in your understanding of the roots of modern Guangzhou and maybe surprised by its rich cultural background.

Took my wife and son here, mainly due to a lack of alternatives as we've seen most everything that Guangzhou has to offer. It was a decent day out, fairly quiet by GZ standards and rather peaceful at times. There isn't too much to do perse, rather it's more of a wander and see what you see kind of place. There are little performances here and there and shops selling bits and bobs though. Overall, I'll simply say that it's a fine area for enjoying some good weather, having a cold drink and some local snacks, while taking some nice photos. There is a good play area and some shallow pools for kids to splash around in, so it's no problem for families, and there are lots of places to grab a drink so good for couples and a nice venue for a date I suppose.
Lastly, getting there we used didi chuxing, wasnt expensive and was easy to find. Taxi drivers will know the place, though it is far from the city center so not all drivers will want to go.

Need a good half day tour to enjoy the replica of olden day Chinese life style activities. Pay attention to the couple of cultural shows timing which are worth watching.

What time is the park was closed. I plan to arrived at 4 pm. And walk along there 2 houres, pls advise.
