Oasis in the city
Oct 2015
It is located just off a busy street. step in and let the bustle melt away.

The park is rather well maintained and the gardeners obviously are very good at their jobs. There is a good variety of plants and many old trees. There is also a pond in the middle.

This is the place where locals exercise and your can see people practice taiqi. Best to visit early morning or evening, takes about an hour to complete and worth your time.

For a free of charge part, it is unusually good.

A microcosm of Chinese life

This park is relatively small compared with other parks in the region, but it has many things for the family to do. Be aware it is only open until 9:30 at night, so time your visit carefully.
There is a large splash pool for children with waterfalls as well as other attractions for little children including small rides. The large pond is crisscrossed by two bridges. It is possible to rent paddle boats to go around and see the trees and other scenery. In the evening the park comes alive with activities to take part in or just to watch. Large squares become ballrooms as older couples practice their quickstep to a lively music box. Just adjacent are some other courts where people of all ages practice martial arts and synchronized dancing.
Inside the park are picnic tables and monuments, so there is always a place to sit and talk. Entrance to the park is free, but the amusements cost money. Many locals use it as a place for their post-dinner stroll. It is also easily accessible from side streets near the Panyu Hotel.
