- Deanosaur89Edmonton, Canada1,990 contributionsLots of AnimalsThere are lots of animals and many exhibits to check out. It will take a long time to see everything so do plan to spend the whole day there. It was a huge surprise to see all the animals here. We would recommend doing the "safari train" when the lineups are short as it is included with the ticket price and it is very cool seeing the animals out in the open. The only downsides are the long line ups for the cable cars and the food quality is not that great in the park. Refreshments and ice cream is cheap. Closest metro station is Hanxi Changlong.Visited September 2019Traveled with friendsWritten July 12, 2020
- Ching SGuangzhou, China8 contributionsGreat day out for the familyAdmission is a bit pricey, but once inside you will know it's worth it. This a large zoo with cable car and safari train included in the entry fee. Lots of animals, clean and nice forest scapes. The animal nursery was an unexpected but excellent experience. Saw the brown bears close up (almost too close), and it was awesome. Food is very expensive, so it might be a good idea to BYO. Go on a weekday to avoid the queuesVisited January 2020Traveled with familyWritten January 8, 2020
- afrokenn12Hong Kong, China54 contributionsVery impressed definitely one of the best zoos I’ve ever been toHad zero expectations going into it but came away very very impressed. The biggest thing is the sheer number of animals they have. Most zoo’s will have 2-3 of each type but there were literally tens of each type. The other thing is the safari - you can drive in yourself ( or hire a taxi ) and see the animals up close. Great treat with kids! The park was too big for my 2 and 4 yr olds so we will definitely be back some dayVisited December 2019Traveled with familyWritten January 1, 2020

We went there on January 2020 with 2 children 2 and 5. (For being low season there was no queuing) You can go directly per metro and enter in the south entrance. All by all the experience was great! But my heart broken when we saw the pandas in such a poor condition and really placed as THE attraction of the safari. No respect for the animals, very noisy lots of shops before and after each area, and noisy music. By chance we ended the safari with the train and this part was beautiful. Then a big walk through dinosaurs (funny) monkeys reptiles exotic birds. All by all very nice and a must do with children’s in Guangzhou. But noisy and lots of plastics toys selling. It is more like a Disney world for animals rather than an ecological and respectful area for animals.

It's like a second rate zoo on steroids. Animals kept in poor conditions along with rather small enclosures.
There's a souvenir shop at every attraction so with two small children they get some of your coin eventually. We found it some what over crowded with alot of pushing and shoving however the children did not mind as they thought it was some kind of game and held their own.
I would not go again due to the above.

Visiting the zoo was a pleasant experience as it is spacious, new and well organized. But it is too crouded (maybe because we went there on Saturday). We had to queue for about an hour for the cable car and more than half an hour for safari. It was a bit annoying, but it is the problem of all similar parks.

Apparently one of the best in China and I can see why. Big enclosures, rare animals and lots of information on species and history. We spent most time with the koalas, pandas and tigers and spent nearly 6 hours there. Longest I've ever stayed in a zoo. Easy to get to by Didi. Only annoying thing was loud music (very Chinese and they promote merchandise everywhere) which must be somewhat disturbing also to the animals. Nite we were there during CNY so that was maybe the reason. All in all, great experience and worth the 350RMB price tag

Chimelong is an amazing place to enjoy and explore. The park is massive and there isn't enough time in the day to go through all the rides.. The fun doesn't stop here.. From 3d to 5d theatres and a variety of roller-coaster rides, your day at the park is filled with plenty of great features such as water features and dance party around the other end.. Truly phenomenal experience...

The safari park is amazing! A great zoo, but way more than that. The cable car and train and worth the whole price of admission. Even as English only speakers we had no problem. Staying at the chimelong hotel was a big benefit...express line for the big experiences.

Take that shuttle service whenever you can. Otherwise, it would have been a lot of walking for us on a sunny, hot, humid August day. There are many types of free range animals here. Likely many animals are happier than those at the zoo. The panda area has the most sightseers. Can take a while to get to. We took a Didi taxi ride. It took about 45 minutes, which will be impacted by your starting point and traffic.

We walked around for 30mins then took the tram and cable car(because we gave up walking halfway!lol!). They have interesting attractions within the park itself. You will need to spend at least half a day here.

Please do some research before going here- many animal welfare groups have serious concerns about cruelty and overcrowding. Captive facilities in China do not have have a good reputation and do not have western standards. As for the review that said the animals are smiling - how do you know?? To be avoided.

Unfortunately the people responsible for the care of the animals don't have the necessary knowledge to treat the animals right. Unfortunately this is not seen by the public, however it is clearly spread out in the news. I personally discourage people to visit this park, since every visitor supports this mistreatment. Make it easy, and don't give your money to this park since it will only make the owners more wealthy and enable them to put more animals in captivity. I wanted to see this with my own eyes, and now I have I will never return here again.

Hi, my answer would be to contact chimalong tourist information, they will tell you ,what bus you need from where you are staying, i stayed at one of theresort hotels ,so didnt need the bus, or ask them how much a taxi is, it would be quicker,Proberty more expensiive, there are lots of diffrent buses, ands bus routes, make sure you know whic par you want, iechimalong safari park, is a animal park, oppersite they have waterpark, with music, but if you want to see the penguins and dolphins, thereat ocean kingdom, which is2 hrsaway, make sure u know which park your coming to, also they only deal in cash, no cards of any kind, if you want to take the little buses or jeeps inside the park, as there are long distances to walk, and it can be very hot, they als cash only,no food or drink allowed in the park, they have there own inside but you can rent lockers for the day, be awear they search you, and it can case long delays,if u get time see the pandas, amend take a safari ride by little train, great fun, lucky you, iv been 5 times!!,book the ticket on line to save time, rember the last 4 letters of your booking, they have a ticket machine ,where u can exchange your on line booing for areal ticket, if u go in and out, make sure u get your hand stamped, lucky you enjoy, hope this has helped, some of them do speak english, but very limited,if you use google translate, you might b of line. So take a small Chinese phrase book, it might help

Yes if your staying at one of the 3 park hotels,i dont think otherwise, it takes 2 hrs, by bus, it leaves at 10am, comes back 3 pm, so you have5 hrs there., it depends what you i want to see, you’ll might not get to see the evening fireworks, or the parade, but if its just the animals, it’s worth seagoing, chimalong, have there own web site for tickets!,enjoy i loved it

Hello, I confirm that you can buy tickets both at ticket booths at the entrance of the park but also online (either on the official Chimelong website or on tour operators).
Please note that you can also purchase combo tickets for 2 parks, for example the Safari Park and the International Circus.

Hi,
Try searching for the Chimelong website and it should come up with the Chinese version for you. It is not the Guangzhou Zoo.
Hope this helps.
