Peaceful Small Garden
Dec 2018 • Solo
Bought a package ticket for both Nanyue Garden and Baomo Garden @ 85rmb (up 105)

This garden is around the same as Baomo garden but slightly smaller and less crowded. Will recommend you to go for Baomo Garden instead if you have time-constraint.

A distinct feature of this garden will be that you can take an elevator up and enjoy the scenery (not offered in Baomo Garden)

Alight Metro Line 3 to Shiqiao Station>Bus 67 or 12 and alight at the last stop (it look like a small bus terminal). You can see the entrance from the bus terminal. Return journey back to Shiqiao Station is at the same place.

Awesomely beautiful & magnificent Chinese garden & works of art
Apr 2018 • Friends
Nan Yue Yuan (also known as “Nan Yue Garden”) is the most impressive Garden and collection of Chinese works of art, outdoor sculptured murals, huge collections of precious and semi-precious stones and an iStone store where I purchased a few hundred dollars (US$) in stones, over a thousand sculptures (made of or carved in many different materials, including jade and ivory), fish ponds, and much more.

The Garden construction style is a mix of ancient traditional southern China architecture and royal landscape garden. This is a new and very beautiful facility, which houses winding corridors, Welcoming Pavilion, Joyful Pavilion, five exhibition halls including the Zhao Tailai Exhibition Hall, HuoZongjie Exhibition Hall, pearl exhibition hall, jade-ware exhibition hall, pottery and porcelain exhibition hall and sculptures spread throughout the Garden, stone carvings, an upper level (with elevator service) viewing area, limestone caves with changing light colours, and carvings, and more. Throughout the Garden, there are Chinese dwarf trees, plants, ponds, and beautiful rocks, etc.

Nan Yue Garden is located in Zini Village, Shawan Town, Panyu District of Guangzhou. It is about 300 metres in a northerly direction from Baomo Garden. I arrived here by taking bus 67 from Line 3’s Shiqiao Station. Exit at the last stop, and if you look around, you should be able to see Nan Yue Garden about 125 metres away in one direction and Baomo Garden 175 metres away in a direction about an 120 degree turn. If walking direct (i.e., taking the diagonal) from one to the other, the distance would be 250 metres.

Before I commence my trips, I take a photo of my destination names in both English and Chinese. Then enroute, I’ll ask for directions whenever I am concerned that I might not be going the right way.

Travel Tip re toilets: There are many public, restaurant, and other toilets throughout Guangzhou. However, few supply tissue. Thus, to be safe, always carry an adequate supply of tissue. Most of these toilets are fairly dirty, have water for washing, but supply nothing to dry yourself with. The toilets in Nan Yue Garden are the most beautiful I’ve see in a park/garden in China. I was so impressed, that I took photos when I went through and which I will post hereto. Ample soap, tissues, and hand-paper is also supplied, and supplemented with air dryers.
