The Najran Valley Dam is an arch dam on Wadi Najran about 15 km (9.3 mi) southwest of Najran in Najran Province of southwest Saudi Arabia. It has several purpose to include water supply, flood control and groundwater recharge. Its collects run-off and sediment in the wadi and helps release it downstream slowly throughout the year. The dam was completed in 1981 and inaugurated by the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Nayef bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud in 1982. It is owned by the Ministry of Water and Electricity.
There is small museum at the top you can enjoy by seeing very old tools and gun

Najran Dam is one of the important sights seeing in Najran specially in the rainy days where you can find the Dam full of water.

Second most famous place in Najran. Big construction you will appreciate and find wonderful. Way to the dam after the security gate is a little adventure with two tunnels and sharp bends. Drive cautiously. Nothing special over other dams but to the area it’s a monument.

Najran doom is one of the biggest dom in Saudi Arabia and if you visit Najran, You should visit Sad Najran. It is good place for walking not for sitting and there are some disappointed comment that the place is not fully cleaned.
