- mwhamburgerSeattle, Washington854 contributionsan incredible mosque - even if you can only view it from the outside as a non Mulsimthis is the second largest mosque after Mecca. I had to hunt around to find the Arabic name for the Prophet's Mosque to write a review. Muhammed is buried here. The ground is spread over 20 some acres. It's unbelievably huge and holds inside/out a million people. Try to imagine that. When we were there and watched the pilgrims from lots of different countries enter the mosque we were truly in awe of the masses that seemed never ending. Non Muslims are not allowed to get inside (there is a green barrier). But what you can see as you walk around will blow your mind. It's stunning!!. What looks like umbrellas does also fold up. Totally beautiful to look at and architectural genius.Visited January 2024Traveled with friendsWritten February 4, 2024
- Baitullah Travel UKLondon, United Kingdom6 contributionsA holy trip to Masjid An Nabawi SAW in Feb 2024 - Baitullah Travel UKOur pilgrimage to Masjid Nabawi in February 2024 with Baitullah Travel was nothing short of a divine odyssey. From the instant we set foot in the hallowed precincts, a profound sense of spirituality engulfed us. The iconic green dome stood tall, an emblem of our faith and a beacon of hope for pilgrims worldwide. In the Rawdah, where the Prophet's (peace be upon him) serene resting place resides, our prayers echoed with unmatched sincerity and reverence. Baitullah Travel's impeccable arrangements ensured our journey was smooth and focused solely on our spiritual enlightenment. Their attention to detail allowed us to immerse ourselves fully in the mosque's rich history and architectural splendor. Every corner we explored whispered tales of devotion and inspired us to strengthen our connection with our faith. Leaving Masjid Nabawi was bittersweet, as we departed with hearts filled with gratitude and souls nourished by the divine experience. Our pilgrimage with Baitullah Travel was an unforgettable chapter in our spiritual journey, one that will continue to resonate in our hearts for years to come. - rs0103Edinburgh, United Kingdom58 contributionsUmrah trip October 2024 (Part 2-Medinah)Please see my other page on Makkah for tips and my review. We travelled by high speed train from Makkah to Medinah – covering the distance in just over 2 hours with one stop in Jeddah. Stayed at the Sofitel which is the closest to the women’s entrance gate 25 (about 5 minutes walk). Compared to Makkah, Medinah was so organised and quiet, managed to pray inside the prophet’s mosque with no hassle, plenty of chairs for those that can’t sit down and water barrels all over to take a drink of Zamzam water. Now for some key points to arm yourselves with. • Praying at namaz times is easy to navigate and inside and you can get there at Azaan time and still get a space • For men, you can walk past the prophet tomb with no booking required. Entrance is close to the south entrances and signposted. Be prepared to queue but lines are kept moving by security • Rawdah – to pray in Noble Rawdah, you have to book on the Nusk app as this is required to reduce overcrowding. This is mandatory and QR code on the app will be scanned. You get a choice of times and arrive about 20 minutes before as you will need to queue. If you arrive too early, you will be turned away. • Jannatul Baqi graveyard – no booking needed and there is a path going through which is moving one way. Again lines are kept moving. Entrance is by south west part of mosque by the Lost Children centre. • ZamZam water – you can take back home one 5l water which you collect from Jeddah airport or Medinah airport. Just show your passport at the dedicated section outside of departures to collect the bottle. Note, you should only take the water from the airport as these are packaged for air travel. You can’t open them until you reach your destination. Another note, if you are flying straight home, then the water is not counted as part of your luggage. However, if you decide to do a stopover on your way home (so going to Dubai and then back home), the water on you final flight back is counted with your luggage so bear in mind the total weight Overall a great trip and an experience to be able to visit these two beautiful places. However, slightly let down by the overzealous guards in Makkah and the inconsiderate people who think it is a race to do Tawaf around the Kaaba – we even saw one man taking a business call whilst walking around, seriously, some people have no understanding of why there are there.Visited October 2024Traveled with familyWritten October 25, 2024
- ReisepostillenHamburg, Germany118 contributionsExtremely impressiveThe area of the Prophet's Mosque is overwhelming and of very special beauty. Also exciting are the two affiliated museums on Mohammed's life history and the development history of the mosque. More about Medina can be found in the travel report "Saudi Arabia - Notes on a trip in autumn 2024". The book will be published in print and e-book form in April 2025 and tells of a two-month individual journey through the country.Visited November 2024Traveled soloWritten November 9, 2024

You can spend the entire day and not realize where you are. I would have loved to spend more time there. The masjid is gorgeous. Take time to reflect, send Salaam and enjoy the beaty of the masjid. They placed a lot of detail in every arch, in every pillar, in every corner, every floor, and everywhere else you look.Visited November 2024Traveled with familyWritten November 13, 2024
- ziyarah tLondon, United Kingdom6 contributionsMasjid-e-NabwiMasjid-e-Nabwi (The Prophet’s Mosque) is the second holiest site in Islam. It was built by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in Madinah a city in Saudi Arabia. Masjid-un-Nabwi is also the burial place of Phophet Muhammad (PBUH). The Prophet (ﷺ) said “Whoever purifies himself in his house, then comes to the mosque of Quba and prays in it, he will have a reward like the Umrah pilgrimage.” The rewards of praying in Masjid al Nabawi is better than 1000 prayers in any other Mosque while praying in Masjid al-Haram is 100,000 times better.Visited February 2024Traveled soloWritten November 23, 2024
- berenice511Bremen, Germany120 contributionsLike in a thousand and a night!Visiting the mosque both by day and by night is definitely a highlight! It is not entirely clear whether one can enter the court as a non-Muslim, in some cases we were cordially invited to do so, but in some cases also rejected. Especially in the evening after the evening prayer, when the faithful leave the mosque in their thousands, there is a special atmosphere.Visited November 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten November 28, 2024
- Shaiesta M29 contributionsThe Prophet’s MosqueSpiritually uplifting. The musjid is beautiful. To pray inside you have to arrive an hour or so before salaah time as it gets full especially during peak periods. If praying outside carry own prayer mat, the marble is hard and sometimes you dont get to pray on the carpeted area. Rawdah slots are rushed, try to make the most of it when you book via the Nusuk app. Time inside goes quick & the guards rush you to leave as soon as they see you complete 2 rakah nafl prayer in Rawdah. The Riad Ul Jannah is no longer demarcated in a different color carpet. Anyone without a Rawdah booking via Nusuk app will not be allowed into the Rawdah. The guards scan QR code on entry. Ladies enter Rawdah via door 37 with a Nusuk app permit. Sadly you are only allowed one visit to the Rawdah as an individual. Some people that have group bookings managed to go twice, not sure how that works. Try to get to the front 3 rows to pray if possible without pushing and hurting other sisters as these rows are considered to be the Riad ul Jannah area. Also look for the pillars of repentance and Bibi Ayesha and try to pray close to those if possible. There is said to be great rewards for those who pray in these areas. May the Almighty accept your prayers and make your journey easy, rewarding and fulfilling.Visited December 2024Traveled with familyWritten January 1, 2025

Start early in the morning and arrived at Al Madina, the city which host our Prophet Muhammad PBAH before over 1400 years when Makkah people didn’t welcome him. Al Madina is a city very famous for the kindness of its people and their great hospitality. Visited Al Masjid Al Nabawi, prayed Zuhr and Asr there, visited our Prophet's house, which is now his graveyard, adjacent to his two main followers in Islam Abu Baker and Omar. Unfortunately, unable to visit Al Rawda Al Shareefa, which needs a special permission through an application called Nusuk, but was all booked and full. A great visit and spiritual experience.Visited December 2024Traveled with familyWritten January 2, 2025

Alhamdulillah, my Wife and I were able to grace Al Masjid an Nabawi again in December 2019. Its always an experience beyond expectations to pray, seek refuge, reflect, re-invigorate, discover, strengthen, etc etc.
Many people have reviewed and expressed their joy, peace, serenity and tranquility upon visiting this Masjid. I am no different. It's always a special occasion to be able to be at the Masjid.
However, one blight on the landscape. I was reading the Quran translation to get better understanding of the Quran, when 3 guys nonchalantly walked to the shelf where I placed my footwear, just 5 feet away to my left, and picked up my footwear. Initially they were surprised that somebody was actually aware and only upon being shouted at, did they put back my footwear. They were definitely visitors, NOT local Saudis.
I was completely shocked and aghast that such a behavior exists in the Holy Mosque an Nabawi. So, just be aware and not encourage nor tolerate such behaviors.

Salams brothers and sisters
Alhamdhulillah. After so much of struggles and patience I was able to get the Visa for Umrah in October 2019. What a blessed trip it was, Subahanallah. I was able to perform each and every ritual with full heartedness and the prescribed Sunnah way.
Was able to do the below in Makkah:
1. Prayed twice in the First row of Kaaba
2. Kissed the Hazrul Aswad twice
3. Performed the Sunnah ritual of Multazam
More and more deeds with a fully satisfied Umrah.
Was able to do the below in Madinah:
1. Prayed in the First row of Masjid al Nabawi
2. Several Ziyarah of the Rawdah
3. Several prayers in Riadhul Jannah
4. Participated fully in a funeral procession in Jannatul Baqi.
Alhamdhulillah
Insha Allah will be able to help and guide if anyone wishes some ideas on how to manage and complete the above also with some very useful and valid suggestions for a satisfactory Umrah in Makkah and a whole lot rituals in Madinah.
My whatsapp is +22506727305 and will be available for anyone, expecting nothing but your valuable Duas in return.

Masjid an nabawi is such a peaceful calm masjid. I loved praying outside especially at Maghrib time. It is so so beautiful, I recommend praying at the mosque for daily prayers.
As with Covid they were quite stricter with timings after salat .

One of the most beautiful and tranquil places on Earth. The mosque is designed so amazingly, and the architecture is modern, yet traditional. Very modern with fans and constant cleaning going on, there is no huge rush or mosh pit to get to one place or another and there's space to pray inside and outside of the Mosque, for Maghrib, I reccomend praying outside, the sunset sometimes makes the whole sky shine amazingly, a very unique experience and I can't wait to be there again.

Amazing place to relax and calm your soul religiously. Beautiful and clean mosque. Rare pieces of structures, columns and artwork through out the mosque. Familiarize yourself with the gate numbers. At this time women can enter Roza e Rusool from gate 25. So those who are staying at gate 6 or something like those numbers have to walk a lot. But no problem for men as they may enter anytime. Mosque is open 24 hours and welcomes you openly st any time of the day n night. Keep a prayer mat handy and slippers in your bag as you May pray at any corner on floors and it will be helpful. Wearing masks are recommended to stay safe from viruses and germs. You will love this place.

Salaam, we recently visited Madina and had followed the rules to book permits for Rawdah. My elderly mother and sister followed the instructions and waited in a queue for over an hour. Once at the permit check point, they showed the security lady a screenshot of the permit but were not allowed entry. Another lady had a printed copy but again refused entry.
The screenshots / paper copies are evidence so should not have been discarded. There is a code and reference numbers on the permit and security dont even bother looking at the information to confirm.
The Nusuk app and new process for booking ummrah is ridiculous. In Makkah, nobody checked our permits as we were in ihram, they just let us through without question. In Madinah, its been quite the opposite and very disappointing. Ince rejected, there is no way to re-book until days later, when most people are to leave. Some points to note:
1. How do Saudi expect all attendees to have network, to open the app in a foreign country when sometimes the Nusuk app doesnt even load properly.
2. Why are the security not just using a scanner to scan the code and confirm rather than look at you and then decide based on discrimination.
3. There is no process to complain or escalate the issue. Whilst the app may be a way to improve the process, it has terribly failed those attending.
4. Why is there so much discrimination in Saudi? Unless you are a Saudi or in some cases Arab, the staff, security, etc treat you like 3rd class citizens.
Ummrah is a very important event in a muslims life and Saudi government should be making it easy and comfortable for Hajjis.
Although Makkah experience went fairly well, the Madinah experience has left a very sad and disappointing memory, especially when this would be the last time my mother can travel to visit.
Saudi Government - scrap the Nusuk App if you are not going to scan the permits and go back to old ways that worked.

Once again had the absolute privilege of visiting the beautiful and awe inspiring Masjid Nabeweya in Medina.
Traveled with family members including young children and again am absolutely astounded at the peacefulness and calmness of this massive prayer facility.
You find yourself completely forgetting time and before you know it you have sat under these beautiful open umbrellas for a few hours.
It is full to capacity but nevetheless everyone is feeling the same peace and calm as you can tell by their expressions.
A truly wonderful experience and I have felt it every time I have visited.

We loved the beautiful architecture, serenity and peace in this most holy mosque of the prophet of Islam. The Mosque is very well maintained. The best time to convey salaams is after midnight when crowds start thin. Also a good time to pray in Riaazal Janaa.

We last visited Madinah February 2020 - bustling of activities, people all over the world. Lots of shops, restaurants etc. Now the place is almost empty with mostly local people. It was sad that we could not enter Raudhah. People follows instructions and very orderly in the Mosque courtyard and also inside.

I enjoyed my 10 days pilgrimage visit to the Grand Mosque, saluted the graves of prophet Muhammad and Nabi Issa ( Jesus) which are built inside the Grand Mosque. I had also visited the Grand Mosques Al Aqsa in the city of Jerusalem and the Grand Mosque Al Haram in the city of Mecca. These 3 places are linked as holy places for the pilgrimage. Many tourists book visits to these 3 places in one journey of pilgrimage.
