Very nice quiet and beautiful place for relaxing, no pollution, no vehicle noise. The best time to walk and enjoy the scene is the early morning or at sunset.

The northern section of the Corniche seems to have been in the process of being updated for some years now. Its a waste of good beachfront and amenity area with the constant redevelopment. Wonder when it will be finished??

I am working here in Al Khobar and Corniche is one of the few places I can go to spend time.
It's just a normal beach/park.
Lots of restaurants here like Fridays, Chili, Apple Bees, Kfc , Mc Donalds, Pizza Hut, Fushi ( a Japanese restaurant) and many many more.
You'll find Starbucks, Dr Cafe , Segafredo and more.
Locals usually go here with their families and sit on the grass , more like a picnic.
Some sit in front of the beach and spend time, you can see King Fahad Causeway in the horizon and especially at night.
Swimming is prohibited but you can go fishing.
There's a small train ( amusement) that can take you around for a minimal fee.
I usually avoid going to corniche during weekends , it's usually crowded with locals especially teenagers. Some of them are quite naughty and pick on expatriates.

The whole Khobar Corniche is beautifully landscaped. It has big lagoons, wide promenades, a long jogging lane and several green spaces where you can have picnic. If you like fishing, the Persian Gulf, where the park is located is abundant with a variety of marine species like squid, barracuda, small, mostly edible fish and sometimes if you're lucky you can catch sharks or rays. There are also many international food chains located near the corniche like Pizza Hut, Burger King, Hardees, Mcdonalds, KFC, Chili's, TGI Fridays, Tony Romas and Starbucks to name a few. Overall, the corniche is a good place to do picnics, jogging, fishing, dining, strolling or simply sight-seeing where you can have a nice view of either sunrise and sunset. The best time to go there is when the weather is mildly cold between the months of November-February.

For about 20 years, I lived in Al-Khobar and am a witness to the development of Saudi Arabia in every sector including the infrastructure. The coastal cities like Al-Khobar, Dammam, Jeddah, Jubail, and Yanbu were beautified with parks, monuments, highways, buildings, landscapes, and beaches/corniches. The Al-Khobar corniche is developed in such a way making it a pleasant picturesque boardwalk on a lovely walking way and a jogging path along the Arabian Gulf glittering waters. There is a wide sun-soaked avenue that runs along the coast for many miles with picnic spots, gardens, kids’ play areas and a host of coffee/tea shops where one can find snacks, ice cream, and cold drinks. It’s a perfect walking track in the morning as well as in the evening with a sea-view backdrop. The three-story Khobar water tower is one of the most iconic landmarks of the corniche skyline. There are many world-famed fast food outlets and restaurants along the coastline turning this place a fortune for families. For many expatriates, they do fishing in their leisure time and enjoy barbecue foodstuff.

Khobar has opened a new corniche section after the meridian hotel. Well designed with lost of children ply grounds.
Also a few cafes and restaurants. Lots of food and coffee trucks.
It's worth visiting

Is the corniche open for the public at this time? We are planning to visit al khobar this coming weekend and its not worth it if the corniche is not open.
Is there an admission fee?

There is a place named Baher Villas on the same Aziziah area near Half Moon Bay where ladies can swim all they want. This place is usually fully-booked during holidays. Have fun.

If you want to swim in the sea, you can go to Halfmoon Bay and use the facilities of one of the local hotels there, e.g. Holiday Inn. You will need to pay an entrance fee and consume their food and drinks only.
Another option is to go to one of the expat compounds as a guest, if you know anybody who lives there. All of them provide pools that can be used by ladies (e.g. Eurovillage...)
