It's just located next to the new train station. The building itself is the old train station and the red colour outside is eye catching. I saw some interesting stuff here, even though I am not a fan of train / machinery.

Nice place to spend a couple of hours with kids or friends. Informative and interesting exhibit area. Quite interactive as well. Pay attention on the admission hours.

I visited the display in front of the old RR station in Yekaterinburg. A some Rube Goldberg-esque display of characters and old equipment laid out around a track in what used to be the front parking area of the RR Station. Interesting use of the space and an excellent layout of great interest to children and RR fanatics!…

The museum is housed in the old station, just down the road from the present one, and the building is worth visiting in its own right. Otherwise there are quite interesting displays of items that tell the history of railways in this part of Russia - but for most visitors the main attraction was the working model railway. They apparently have plans to extend the museum into some disused railway sheds nearby, and add real rolling stock - which should be a great improvement.…
