This place made me break into tears. Of course, I'm a history buff and had read a lot about the incredible story of Pavlov's house, where 20 fierce men held s building for 58 days, under the enemy fire. In the end, they all died, but their courage is not forgotten, and this giant memorial proves it. Right behind Lenin... More

It is a nice memory of those days, interesting to see and research the story of Pavlov, only one of the heroic figures of the Stalingrad battle. Now a lonely inscriptions on the ruins reminds of the effort to protect every brick of the city.

Impressive monument for a war time legend. Very imposing with Lenin statue adding to the effect. Could do with a tidy up around it and perhaps give the area some nice shrubs to add to the impact. Close to busy road and nearby university so area is quite busy. Could do with being sheltered away a bit. Perhaps with trees.

That building is called the Pavlov's House, as given tribute to the remarkable Soviet soldiers and theirs commander Sergeant Yakov Pavlov. Pavlov and his platoon were defending this place for sixty days against the Germans... More

Many are confusing the Flour Mill with the Pavlov's House. Today there is not much left of the original Pavlov's House. In the city of Volgograd you see only bricks or the wall of the famous house.

Pavlov's House has long since been rebuilt into an apartment building like many others in any Soviet city -- but on one corner of the façade, facing the Flour Mill, is some red brick work depicting how the building might have looked at the end of the Battle. You will see it if you go to the Panorama and the... More

a wartime relic as the red Pavlov house stands bravely till today, showcasing the life history of this hero city during WW2. It's an open air museum just beside the panorama museum without admission fee. You may not enter the building as you could only go around it, but with close enough distance to see the ruins, damages holes, scars... More
