It is not that easy to get to the first time. There are no signs to inform you that you are near and if you don´t speak Russian well no chance until you are there. The bus stop coming is the other side of the road where you take your life in your own hands to cross a very fast and busy road.
The museum as no noticeable signage and I think that the inscription on the front of the building is an insult to those people who died there. The sign is very small and insignificant and only in Russian.
When we visited the memorial 20th May there was no eternal flame burning.
The memorial is well kept and beautiful and I found that it was very peaceful there.
The museum had a sign for the opening hours but was close although the appeared to be some sort of a security man there.
Where is the bus stop for the return trip? We found out that is you turn left and walk up the hill you will find the bus stop. Alternatively you can you can wait by the road just outside and wave a bus down.
After seeing the respect on May 9th parade, I can`t believe Rostov Government`s lack of respect for this memorial with a closed museum and lack of signage or proper road crossing or return bus stop.
Yes, many people suffered and died there! Although many were Jewish and so am I, it is not the point.
The point is that it was an indescribable deaf of 27,000 people at the hand of the brutal Nazis there and the respect memory should never be allowed to fade away!

We must never forget the victims of the World War II and never forgive those who executed millions and millions of innocent people.
This memorial will always remind what may happen if people will allow irresponsible politicians get power.

Awe-inspiring, thought provoking. Located near to a busy main road, not far from the zoo. Regular bus services nearby, also supermarket and kiosk for picnics, snacks, etc..
