As part of tours Beyond Red Square, our group had a wonderful virtual tour of Pyatigorsk. Five couples loved visiting the historic city of Pyatigorsk, a place most likely none of us would be able to see in our lifetime. Unique to the area are hot mineral springs that led to the development of more than 100 sanatoriums dedicated to all Russians' health. We found it fascinating that the government encouraged its people to travel to the region for treatments at no cost! Our tour guide, Roman, added exciting and entertaining images and commentary on various treatments people received. We can all tell Roman loves his city and is proud of its rich heritage. We all highly recommend this virtual, shared experience with friends and family.

You will definitely find your way home using these pointers :) .
Impressive city view via clouds . You can see even Elbrus mountain if you are lucky with visibility.

This is definitely worth your time. You can take the cable car up the mountain (5 minutes), or climb to the top (1-1.5 hrs.). If the gate's open, you can drive to the top too. Incredible views of the surrounding area, Mt. Beshtau, and the Caucasus Mountain range & Elbrus when clear. Sunsets on Mashuk are incredible.
It's always colder up there so be prepared! Lots of beautiful photo opportunities.....

If you get the cable car up you'll see them. Worth a wander by, the view is the best part. Poles with different arrows on them, fun to wander round.

Must have site for Pyatigorsk (and entire Stavropol region). Although it was cloudy when we reached the top of the mountain, we enjoyed the feeling of being 'above the sky' =) And even in November it has genial sunshine. Well worth it, and while nobody see - just enjoy a glass of sparkling wine to be taken with you, which is pretty romantic here ;)

If you want to hike there, do it early in the morning, I did my hike in mid day it was hot - took a bit more than 1hr. Or like most people you can also take the cable way and hike back.
Either way the view is just amazing! You can see the city, and the mountains around it.
As for the pointers, they were so many of them and god knows if they are correct.

Do not walk to the top of the mountain, it takes much time (1h30). But view is really worth, 360 degrees on the Caucasus and the region!

The view from the top of Mashuk i great - when the weather is good even the Elbrus can be seen. The pointers leave a feeling that they are put randomly as anyone can just scratch the name of the hometown on a piece of wood, otherwise looks cool

The ride is breathtaking but bumpy. The range of mountains and kindness of strangers could not be better.
