The mouse is in Academy Town. The opening of the monument took place in 2013 and was timed to coincide with the 120th anniversary of the city. Artist A. Kharkevich, sculptor A. Agrikolyansky. According to the author's idea, the images of a laboratory mouse and a scientist are combined here, because they are interconnected and serve the same purpose. We walked towards the mouse purposefully and it is the most memorable sculpture in Academy Town, I recommend it.

It is unusual to see the contribution of mice to science and research acknowledged somehow. If you are around, worth a quick visit.

It is not often that you are going to see a monument to mice and their contribution to science. If you are in the area you should check it out.

Do not forget to touch the DNA and think about mutation you would like to have. Will it be a big strong blue arm? Or maybe you would like to have eagle eyes? Maybe body modification? THis is your personal lab mice gennie!

The English name of this Object is one of numerous examples of how Tripadvisor translator bots distort the original - in this case Russian - name of an object. In my language a singular form of the noun is amply used. Why inventing rubbish?
We found that charming monument in the beginning of August after a rather exhausting search. Firstly, it is located not in the city but in Akademgorodok - formally a part of greater Novosibirsk but in reality, its satellite town. Secondly, the road there is rather congested so it really tikes time and effort to reach the place. And, finally, the object is rather small and nestles in a park, without any road signs leading to it.
I love tributes to such tiny creatures - our little brothers and sisters. It's upon their selfless sacrifice that Man builds his fortune. Hats off!
Strongly recommended.

It is in Akademgorodok scientific town, a university town and not easy to find.
But if you visit this small town there are not many things to see, IT tower, old locomotive museum, etc. Just see it.

If you are not spending time in Akademgorodok for research or study purposes, you might get very bored relatively fast.

A popular pastime in Akademgorodok is to stroll through the university ground and enjoy the peace and quietness of a snow scape. While enjoying a breath of "very fresh" Siberian air, you should take some time to visit the "Research Mouse" or "Monument of Laboratory Mice".

Off the beaten path and hidden next to the institute of genetics, the statue is a polite expression of gratitude to all the animals that involuntary supported research in general. The elderly mouse is knitting a DNA string and keeping a watchful eye through it's elderly glasses.

There really ins't much to do in Akademgorodok, yet the visit to the "Research Mouse" is indeed highly recommended.

the spot is hard to find (you can ask the security around, they are used to the questions); nice to visit if you are in the university area
