It's a dam, so don't have high expectations. It offers nice views of the river and surrounding area, but only appreciated if you cross on foot and not drive across.

It is out of the way if you are staying in downtown. From the outside you can only see a massive construction blocking a huge body of water. I stood there facing the winds from Baikal.

This is apparently one if the largest hydroelectric dams in Russia. It not only provides power to all of Irkutsk but even sells surplus to Mongolia. No pulloff so prepare to go up over the curb to get off the road.

Interesting place to see, and very near the Angara icebreaker too. A bit out of town so take a marshrutka or a taxi, or just have a long stroll like we did.
