It’s a unique sculpture with a great view of the river in the background. A surprising find by the edge of the river.

It is a good sculpture taking us to the wild years gone centuries ago, when slavery was usual for humanity... When people could be born as bond slaves and spend their lives without even a day of freedom... slavery from the first breath....so sad... The only con I have is the sculpture looks small. It will be much better to see a bigger one.

This is a sculpture made to suggest a painting and it works! Step back, admire and take a photo of an impression of a painting with full 3D effect.

Ilya Repin painted a masterpiece displayed in the Russian Museum of Saint Petersburg, not as visited as the Hermitage. It deserved to be admired and someone came with the great idea of turning it into a sculpture and place it in an accurate context. The haulers (or burlaki) are perfectly depicted, the boat is there, the only missing piece was the background, so the painted Volga is substituted with the Volga itself! Take a close look to admire all the face expressions. The sculpture isn´t very big because it respects the actual size of the painting.
