Worth a quick look and photos. Nearby flea and large food markets and parks are more interesting. To the northwest is a park with great views of the Volga River and the brewery area.

I Heard it is the largest Squares in Europe, and it might be. Took a long time to walk all the way and you have to be on a long distande to take a Picture of the opera house. You will se markings on the ground/asfault indicating the lines all millitary parades will have. Nice and impressive.

The square is huge and the buildings around it impressive as well. It's quite easy to find, no problem with that. I guess you can combine it with your theatre visits to see it. We saw it on celebrations of "Samara Day" and it was quite crowded as there was a streetball tournament. But be prepared there isn't much to... More

Nice square with big "platz" for demonstrations and military parades. Was place of the Great Parade on 07.12.1941, when German army was close to Moscow. Soviet Government and foreign diplomatic missions was evaqated to Samara, and they saw the Parade, which demanstarte the powerfulness, force and strength of Soviet Army.

Kubychev Square is the city of Samara's main square with the Opera and Balley Theatre located right there. Altough it is the largest square in Europe, it is just a square that may be worth looking up if you are in the area anyway. The Drama Theatre, the Strukovsky Park, and the Volga River are within walking distance from there.

Great example of Stalins time architecture. Bigest square complex in Europe and a nice place to take photos! Very interesting experience! Strongly recommend to visit. It is quite near in 5 minutes walk from the Drama theater - one of the symbols of Samara.
