great way to get to the city centre,only has on line but the bus ,trolleybus and trams all link up with the metro very cheap and easy to use ,dont have to wait long for a train.Felt very safe using the metro.

Kazan Metro is very easy to use and one of the safest in Europe. 50 Rubels for a round trip. Your bag will be scanned before you go through turnstile.

Very similar to Moscow Metro except everything is on a smaller scale, and the wait time between trains is much longer.

Token (ticket) is 25 rubles, $0.4 Nice friendly staff. Station names are announced in Russian, Tatar and English. Also, interesting shops by stations entrances.
