Located in hisotrical Tatar settlement, this private museum is not a classical one. There are 6 or 7 rooms in it, each has its theme. A young but very knowledgeable guide followed us to the rooms, telling stories about origin of Tatar people and development of Kazan city, and Muslim religion, showing small video films and interactive pictures. He was able to answer lots of our questions =))
In the end of this tour we were invited to a "tea ceremony with virtual grandma", with hot delicious tea and local sweets.
The tour is about 1 hour long, very easy-going and interesting, and this is the best time you could spend in a cold November / winter day. Recommended!

Quick facts:
- Very knowledgeable and friendly guide. Rustam, the guide, is probably Ph.D. in History and not only very good at the history, but also very enthusiastic.
- The guide speaks Tatar, Russian and Arabic. The whole tour in the museum takes 1.5 hours at max. The tour will help you get rid of the stereotypes about Muslims.
- Good for visitors of all ages. I visited the museum twice, once with my nephew (8 y.o.) and once with my fiancée, it was perfect.
- There is an amazing tea ceremony in the end, with national Tatar sweets and the best tea in Kazan.
- The price is less than 6 eur per person which is basically free if you are from Europe.

We went here on purpose due to good reviews only to find the place closed. A cleaning lady explained us it is closed and you can only prearrange your visit via the telephone displayed.
However, there're many other interesting attractions in this authentic Tatar part of Kazan, so I suggest coming anyway.

Strongly recommend for a quick historical incursion. Compact and well organized, well balanced with modern multimedia content. Nicely handled with tea and sweets testing at the end of the tour.
