Excellent exhibition - including replicas for those who get borded with fragments of clothes and metal ;), 3rd floor focuses on local natural history. Great view from the top.

Vyborg is not as tourist friendly as the bigger cities. This we especially felt at vhborg castle. The thing is that you have to buy several tickets after entering the castle (also ticket for entering) which we didn't understand. The people working there were very...More

This tower and community are on my Top Ten Places to visit when in St Petersburg. It's like stepping back in time. Very beautiful and an easy climb to the top!

The top of the castle gave a very pretty view of Vyborg. It is a nice place to visit if you want to see the heart of the place. But unfortunately we had to queue for a very long time to get to the lookout...More

This castle is a symbol of Vyborg (viipuri). It's gorgeous and magnificent. It stands on the water and guards the city. It's the most beautiful and must important landmark. And... It's in EXTREMELY POOR CONDITION!!! It's a shame the city management does nothing to change...More

The castle has a nice range of exhibits telling the history of the city from Swedish to Finnish to Russian rule. The museum itself is a bit tired, and the facilities off putting. Good for a taste of less touristy Russia.

It's better to view the castle on a sunny day as the place is literally open to all the winds. The best part of the trip was the archery lesson that you can try just at the foot of the castle tower. It added much...More

The people we met at the castle and around the town were very friendly (I read some reviews and was surprised that some people faced rude attendants). The museum is not very big but worth your time. The view from the tower (Olaf's Tower) is...More

I visited Vyborg via boat through the locks and then back by bus. It was truly stunning to come into town with the morning sun bouncing off the old Finnish buildings. It was less than stunning to walk around and try to get something safe...More
