After the promenade was destroyed by a storm, it had been renovated and prolonged. It is a point of argue, if it is more beautiful now. Maybe, you don't like the new style, but it look clean and new now. Besides the old part with the small beach, the old houses, the statues and the sun clock, it has become more than twice longer. The new part is not fully developed yet. As it was winter, I can't say anything about the beach.

Ex Prussian resort area established back in early 19th century. Currently modernized and renovated. Doesn’t seem suitable for swimming. However quite a lovely place for a promenade. I recommend to eat up until he town

Even in mid June it was still quite chilly as we walked along. The views over the Baltic Sea are lovely.

For a great view of Kaliningrad Baltic SEA area and its surroundings you have to go to this place. Easy reachable by train from Kaliningrad station.

Svetlogorsk finally gave some glimpses of what the old Prussia looked like. Some beautiful buildings and nice walks. Easy to get to Svetlogorsk from Kaliningrad's Yuzhny.

I did Svetlogorsk as a part of my Svetlogorsk and Yantarnyi day trip. Buses to Yantarnyi stop at bus stands along Lake Tihoe.

In contrast with Kaliningrad, Svetogorsk is a survivor -- a reasonably well-preserved coastal resort town with many lovely German houses. Even the train station is a cozy old building.
From the main street, there is a lovely winding walkway down to the beach and the promenade. On the way, there is a small monument to Thomas Mann's visit to Rauschen. The sea-shore promenade is nice enough, with a high staircase at one end.
The main drag of the town center is a dense hodgepodge of souvenire booths, trinket-sellers, and ice-cream stands. However, just a few steps off main street, you'll see the remnants of the told Rauchen. Some of the old villas are a bit shabby, some are manicured, but all are a feast to the eye.
There are quite a few construction sites along the edge of the town which suggests the town is expanding considerably.

You can't help but be impressed by the sea here and there are a lot of covered seats where you can chill out and stare into the ocean. Free wifi (as long as you have a Russian friends mobile number for the code to be texted too) - some bars cafes and little food stalls, some nice sculptures along the walk. Along on the left you can end at the sun dial and walk up the (steep) steps to the new and impressive arts center they've recently built, or you can walk right, and walk along the beach. Very pleasant.

It was a lovely place 6 when I visited Sverlogorsk 6 years ago. Since that the pier was destroyed by a storm and never rebuilt. Metal fencing of the promenade visually corroded. Services haven't progressed. So, my second visit to this place was disappointing.

A good evening or afternoon walk, little souvenir stands, outdoor restaurants and restaurants, beach strip under the promenade with clean sand. Nice sunny in the evenings/afternoons. Many grill places that sell fish. Little covered benches to sit. Accessible from main street, over stairs from several points. Did not see showers or changing stations.

There is nothing special here, just walking place, some bunches. Clean, pleasant. What else do you need to seat, relax and enjoy sunset. It is good here, directly in front of you.
