It's in the historic district, so it isn't far. The walkways are straight and fenced. There are fountains and statues. There is a coffee shop. It was calm and quiet. Locals were seen there, with their kids. It's free.

We were really disappointed by these gardens. Boring straight and narrow gravel path lined by rows of tall trees so it feels very enclosed. There are very few flowers and just some uninteresting statues. Even the fountains weren't very attractive. Maybe we missed something but we thought it was a complete waste of time walking here from Nevsky Prospekt. At least it was free.

Summer Garden is one of the gardens located in St. Petersburg, not so far from Hermitage Museum. It was built at the beginning of 18th Century, just only few years after the foundation of the city and probably it was the first garden here. Firstly it was a French-garden, but before it was reconstructed in English-style as you can see now. Nice.
