Fantastic show in an intimate theater. Tips: go early, at least an hour before the start which is usually 7:30. The seats are unnumbered and side seats may be poor. Tour groups show up and take a lot of seats. Also, do not purchase a...More

Saw swan lake ballet which was excellent but the theater sold too many tickets and there wasn’t enough seats for everyone to sit as there are no assigned seats. We were squished in like sardines which made for a very bad bad experience. I paid...More

I'm writing this during the second intermission of a Swan Lake performance. The orchestra and the principal dancers are excellent, especially Odette, and the intimate venue makes for a great way to see the dancers' expressions. However, as many reviews have stated, there are many...More

I went there to see Swan Lake. It was really bad experience. Theater is small and overcrowded. It seems they had people sitting almost in orchestra pit, just behind the conductor. There is no air conditioner and it was very hot and stuffy. I felt...More

Visited the Hermitage Theatre tonight to see Swan Lake. Gorgeous setting and excellent performance. It’s ‘free seating’, so get there early and choose seats near to the rear and centre for the best views!

It is an amazong tiny theater constructed for Catherine the Great. Watched Swan Lake - not the Bolshoi but not bad either.

Not to be recommended. Audience was 95% Asian, who in spite of being asked many times not to take photos insisted on photographing, videoing and texting. Standard of performance left much to be desired, tickets were very expensive and we came away feeling we had...More

This is a wonderful experience, but the tickets weren't cheap and I have to confess that I've seen a better ballet in London and Birmingham! However, it's an excellent performance in a wonderful venue. Horrified at the number of people who kept switching on their...More

This performance of Swan Lake was in a lovely small theater in the Hermitage with curved cushioned seating. We were sitting on the side, about half-way up, but could see everyone on stage easily. No photos were allowed. The dancers were good, but not great,...More

Mesmerising performance of Swan Lake by Tchaikovsky at Hermitage Theatre, which is part of Palace Complex at St. Petersburg. Although small but beautiful theatre situated on the banks of Neva river. Audience was good with complete silence except applauses during the show. One in a...More
