The theatre is beautiful. We booked the private room on the 3rd floor. If you plan to do so, choose the one near the middle instead of the side. The only complaint is that there is no elevator so it was hard for my father (81 years old) to walk up the stairs and the restroom is only available on the 1st floor.
The play was also beautiful and fun. It was about 2.5 hours with 3 parts. We feel like we really reached Russia. :)

Magnificent performance ! The dancers were very good and the music was also of good quality. The theater itself is very beautiful and comparatively small. The sets were beautifully done. The performance went from 7pm to 10pm with two intervals. The mail ballerina was superb! If you book straight from the Alaxandrimsky theater website, there are tickets from about us$70 upwords. I was seated in the dress circle box 2 and it had a great view; the tickets were about $90 for that (see pictures)

My two companions and I were enthralled by this absolutely gorgeous performance. The dancers are fabulous, the sets are exquisite, and the music is beautiful. Don't miss it.

The ballet itself was beautiful and the principle dancers were strong. Makes for a reasonable budget option compared to the Marinaki (maybe). However, it was completely ruined by the constant (and I mean the entire performance) being filmed on cell phones by several audience members in the row in front of us (and throughout the theater).

The Audience was about 85% Chinese. Despite announcements (including in Chinese) not to use cameras, this made no difference. This, highly distracting and hugely disappointing. Ruined the entire experience. We left early. What a pity!! The people in charge should manage the rules more effectively.

Always wanted to see Swan Lake Ballet in St Petersburg Russia. Dancers were wonderful. Theater ornate and lovely. Sparkling wine at first intermission but don’t leave after second break stay for the Stalin happy ending. Recommend this night out.

Sorry but the performance I saw was a huge disappointment. Ticket prices compare with the Royal Opera House Covent Garden (world class performances) and this performance of Swan Lake was far from world class. The banquette seating is a free for all and the largely Chinese audience took photos throughout despite constantly being asked to stop by a member of staff. Lots of wonderful things to do in St Petersburg, I wouldn't recommend this.

Went on an organised tour from a cruise ship. The theatre is atmospheric and the ballet magnificent. It will remain in my memory for a very long time. Not ♿ friendly

It was boring and expensive. Never again. The theater was very small and paying 120€ for such uncomfortable seats.... Not worth it.

Saw this company perform at its last night performance in Melbourne.
Well danced accompanied by Stravinsky's wonderful score.
The music is recorded so no orchestra which I guess allows for reasonably priced ticketing.

Catch it if you can, touring Europe late summer 15
