Great view along Neva, to Hermitage (Winter Palace) and Peter and Paul Fortress. Take pictures, sit down for a while to enjoy great city. On Friday and Saturday you may see a lot of local wedding celebrations here. If you are friendly and manage to greet just married couple, you may have a glass of sparkling wine!

This was a stop on our guided tour and it was good to see the monument. It was also interesting to see local life going on and see the street traders with all kinds of different gifts!

Extremely in love with this place! It's my first picture when smb says "St Petersburg". Highly recommend to visit all tourists because it will really impress you, I promise. You can leave a coin in Neva river to come back in this wonderful city. SPB one Love!

We visited "Strelka" as part of a 4-mile-walk (6 km) from the Winter Palace to Peter and Paul Fortress and back over Strelka to Nevsky Prospect. The Strelka offers beautiful views over the river and was one of our favourite "outdoor places".

My wife and I were staying at a hotel on Vasilievskiy Island and the walk to the Strelka (tongue of land) was relatively easy. I was fascinated by the two Rostral Columns which were originally built as oil-fired navigation beacons in the 1880s. The columns have ship's prows and symbols of nearby great Russian rivers built into them. A fascinating... More

When I researched our trip to St. Petersburg it wasn't obvious that you should come here for the view - the Memorial itself is not particularly inspiring. If I were travelling as part of a more ambulatory group I would have loved to walk here from the Hermitage and then onto the Fortress of St. Peter and Paul (and I... More

Our tour bus stopped in this are to give us a chance to look around and take some photos. Popular place - lots of tour buses stop there - probably because there is no fee? Interesting monument.

On a dry day this is a fantastic walk with great views across St Petersburg. With interesting monuments snd sights along the way. The only issue is the pavements are not buggy friendly!

It's a wonderful walk across the bridge to get here and totally worth the journey. While the memorial sign strelka is interesting, it would be the panorama of the Neva river that stops you. The waterfront awards its visitors expansive views back towards the Hermitage side. A great photo opportunity.

Picturesque view of gigantic old buildings by the sea and the sceneries of the opposite island is fantastic.
