Among the many statues you find in Russia and St. Petersburg this statue beats them all. It is a very characteristic and powerful masterpiece, based on a very big stone, which has been shipped there with tremendoues effort. Have a look and admire!

The statues pedestal is named the `Thunder Stone`. it is the largest stone ever moved by human power alone. It came from near the Gulf of Finland and was originally 1500 tonnes of granite but was carved down to 1250... More

The bronze Horseman is near the river and the Hermitage on Dekabristov Square . Plenty of tourists here to take pictures. This was a Monument to Peter 1. Certainly a monument to see

This monument is a great visual for everything that Peter the Great stood for, what he has tried (and mostly managed) to achieve,

Several attractions are nearby and since it is near the Neva river overlooking the Palace Bridge, it is a good point of view at late night to see the rising bridge as well- about 01.30 AM.

This is located outside the St. Issac's Cathedral. The horse is standing on a giant snake. It looks great at sunset. There is a public park next to it. I found a couple of kids playing on the snow so took some pictures as well.
