Getting into the building was a bit difficult (two different entrance, one fo the tower, the other for the church and if you buy both ticket, you don't know which one is which cause it's written only in russian) but otherwise a rare pearl. We...More

The church is located a few blocks away from our hotel. The structure is imposing by its sheer size. We did not go inside but we were told that for a fee, one can go up to see a beautiful view of the city.

St Petersburg is the home of grand buildings and this one is right at the top of the ladder. Our guide said it's the only museum in Russia that shows a profit which explains the crowds even on a cold autumn day. There's more bling...More

It's a must to go to the top to see amazing views of the city and also to go inside. Inside is just beautiful, the detail is out of this world. So cheap to do both. Quite tiring climbing the steps but well worth it.

This church is the largest church in Saint Petersburg. Beautiful inside and out. It was very interesting learning about the history of the destruction and reconstruction of the church during and after the war. Must visit!

Worth a visit and don't miss out the tour of the Cathedral roof, because you can see most of the city from there.

This is brutal architecture at its best but on studying the facade the granite one piece columns are impressive and they migrate to the internal space but the diameter is scaled down. The interior is highly impressive and very detailed. The colour and extent of...More

They say this Russian Orthodox Cathedral is the fourth largest cathedral in the world but it was so crowded the day we visited that you couldn't really appreciate its size. It is beautiful and well worth a visit, though. A point of interest is the...More
