A lot of people have already explained that the museum consists of three parts, each requiring separate tickets and very often strict adherence to timing. The musem is well designed, although the excursions could indeed be better thought through. Go with kids if they are interested in technical things. Otherwise, it might be a bit boring and disappointing. Maybe underground StPetersburg part is the easiest to digest. And it is mostly for Russian speakers. Messiest thing is ticketing. You cannot buy anything only, only one cashier is working. Two of three parts are accessible strictly on schedule. Better try to call beforehand (allow a lot of time to get through) and figure out when to come and then plan the actual visit. And yes, it does not come cheap: one adult plus one kid require more than 1500 RUB to spend to see everything.

This museum is relatively new and many of my friends have recommend it to visit. You could only access certain parts with the guide. We've chosen excursion Vselennaja vodi. To be honest, neither my children no myself learned much. Tour was mixed with videos and I think we watched more videos than actually listened the tour guide. An hour passed really quickly and my children found it very boring. Would not recommend this place as we regretted the time and money wasted.

The Museum looks amazing! All quite new, lots of marble floors. The Museum consists of three parts, we only saw 2 of them. The tower, wich contains all kind of information about "water/suage" history of st petersburg, a lot of written informations, nothing in english though, except for the sign which leads to the restrooms ;-) Second part was the "Universe of water" this is beautifully done but doesnt contain real information.. Just some generally known things with some strange supersticious parts. For children very nice. Everything in russian tough, visiting is only possible within guided tours which are about every hour and the tour takes one hour, too.
