Time for a wish
Jan 2020 • Couples
Was drawn to the bridge on the way to the bridge saw people looking over the wall. Upon arriving realizing what they where trying to do watched for a while them tossing their coins with not much luck trying to land on the ledge. What got me was how many coins must be in the water below.

By mere accident
Dec 2019 • Friends
We were walking from the winter palace to the isle where the numismatic museum and the church of saints Peter and Paul is when we saw a group of Italians leaning next to Panteleymonovskiy bridge at Fontanka river embankment. We headed to the bridge and took a panoramic photo and there we spotted the protuberance below the Italians, once they left we went back and admired the little bronze statue, nothing worth commenting about the execution of the foundry nor the artist; what is commendable is the story about your wish coming true if the tossed coin lands on the granite pedestal.

Little birdie 🐦 to make your wish come true ❤️
May 2019 • Solo
Love the idea of this little bird statue ❤️ People can make a wish and try to top a coin on the ledge under the little bird, who is on the embarkment of Fontanka River. You can also try to toss a coin for good luck from the boat on your boat trips to Neva, since the boats turn from there and they come really close. Also the captains try to get close enough to have a good view on the little birdie. I like the statue, since it is very nicely made and also it looks very beautiful ❤️

Cute little statue
Jul 2018
Located in between the Summer garden and St. Michael's castle, next to Panteleymonovskiy bridge at Fontanka river embankment.

Hoping for good fortune, people like to drop coins from above with intention to have coins to stay on top of the base of the statue.

Most river cruises go closer to the statue. From the streets one can see the statue pretty much only from above as the statue is closer to water level.

Hard to find
May 2019
The smallest bronze statue in the whole city. Pretty hard to find if you don't know it's exact place. Serach for it from the river Fontanka.

Tiniest sculpture in Saint Petersburg
Jun 2018 • Solo
Thanks to Atlas Obscura, it was wonderful, to see this tiny statue of a finch atop a small perch above the Fontanka river. It is called Chizhik Pyzhik. Please read the legends about this and keep the map as it is easy to miss it !!

Just a bit of fun!
Jan 2018 • Couples
This was a bit of fun while exploring the city.

I wasn't too worried about seeing it, but my partner absolutely insisted that we had to go. So, we went and just had a little bit of fun!

As it's the dead of winter, it was only us and three other people who were trying their luck. It's trickier than it looks, that's for sure! I hit the beak, which was close enough for me to be satisfied.

I was more pleased that it lead us into a little part of the city that we likely wouldn't have gone into otherwise!

Be lucky
Dec 2017 • Couples
Our Russian friend told us to visit and try our luck . Map on tripadviosr , even the downloaded offline version gives you the near perfect place, so follow that, and check out this little hidden bird . We found it no problem , but didn’t get lucky . With only 5 coins between us , we missed every time . We went after sunset and nobody was there which was a bonus . Go and ty your luck just make sure you’ve got loads of low value coins to throw , there was only a few lucky coins on the ledge , maybe next time .

Look out for this little statue that is hidden away and its story related to the students of St Pete

So cute and easy to miss
Aug 2017 • Couples
We were looking for it, and thanks to group of people throwing money over the bridge we found it :)
This is pure hidden gem and not the only statue where people are throwing coins to make a wish and to hope that coin will stay next to the statue.
